Are unit trust holders taxed twice?

Update:
From SM Thanneermalai:

The unit trust holder will not be taxed twice . The dividend received by the unit trust will exempt from Tax at the unit trust level. When the unit trust distributes such income , it will be distributed as exempt income and not taxable in the level of the unit holder .

Therefore no double taxation

Earlier:

Saw someone asking this on Reddit:

Under the Income Tax Act 1967, the unit trust will pay the tax on the income earned during the tax year at the rate of 24%.

So, lets say the listed companies are already paying 24% corporate tax, and the unit trusts that bought the companies shares are paying another 24%,

If so, aren't the unit trust holders being taxed twice?

Are we better off buying blue-chips ourselves?

Sos: https://www.thesundaily.my/business/tax-mat...taxed-CF8052150
