The Fantastic Chromecast

Hey all,

I've been using a mini andoid hdmi dongle called the Google Chromecast for the past couple of months and I think its absolutely fantastic. I use it with my Netflix and Hulu subscription along with a Chrome Extension called Videostream and overall I have to say this makes my HDTV so much more worthwhile.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/v...lokfelagl?hl=en)

http://youtu.be/iwIV7-Xi_eo

Those of you who dont live in a cave have already heard alot about the chromecast. Here's how to get it working in Malaysia. I use a DNS service (Unlocator.com) which by-passes the geo-restrictions. The only problem with the Chromecast is that it has Google's DNS servers hard-coded, so to force it into obedience the only solution I could find was DD-WRT. (https://support.unlocator.com/customer/port...with-chromecast)

Here's how I get it to work:

ZTE BTU-->DIR-615(Bridge following Rizvan's Guide)-->[DD-WRT Linksys E1200]-->Chromecast

Yesterday my DIR-615 gave up its spirit and I have since laid it to rest. I went out and bought a TPLINK WDR4300 which even though is not 802.11-AC is still more than enough for my simple use.

Here comes my question, Now that I have the TPLINK, I've seen on KLSeet's site that he got it working with OpenWRT but was not able to get what I believed was the Wifi working simultaneously? (http://klseet.com/index.php/tl-wdr4300-v13) If anyone knows how to remedy this, I would be eternally grateful, because then I wouldn't need the E1200 anymore just for casting Netflix and Hulu to my TV. It would just be:

ZTE BTU-->TPLINK-->Chromecast

Also KLSeet, I saw on your site you recently started playing with Plex, I gotta tell you it works like a beaut with the Chromecast, after a little tweaking (https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/1046...st-and-android/)

Big Thanks to all of Rizvan's post and Guides, even from years ago, made things a-hell-of-alot easier.

Isaac
