Shopee Handphone Lost/Scam

Hi guys,

During 10.10 sale I bought for my mom a new phone. After a week the phone was delivered to my house. It's just a sub RM500 phone.

To my surprise, the phone itself is missing from the phone packaging. I've read a handful of times where phones that are bought online gets stolen somewhere along the way and now I'm one of them.

I've bought a lot of things online especially on Shopee (phones, TV, gadgets, etc) and have never encountered such an issue before. I'm shocked and surprised the phone is not in the box. Everything else such as cable and charger is intact. Only the pgone is missing.

After thoroughly checking the packaging, I found two unusual things that proves that phone was indeed stolen. First is the box itself. I can see that someone actually taped (salotape) the box again but only on the top part of the box. This salotape is on top of the original tape. Second is the phone box itself. We'd usually find a thin transparent like plastic that is wraps the box but this time this plastic is missing.

I've proceed with return/refund and it's currently in investigation.

Anyone who have been in a similar situation kindly help to share what needs to be done

EDIT: I did unboxing video and I've cctv recording of the parcel delivery. I bought the phone from Shopee Official Mall hence it's guaranteed original product.

I'm looking for advice from anyone who have been in similar situation, specifically those who bought from Shopee. I'd like to know what and how long is the return/refund process. My return/refund process is gonna be 3 days now without any updates.

Smart Watch

Guys,

I'm planning to purchase a new smart watch. I'm currently using a normal watch and planning to move to a smart watch.

The main reason I'd like to move to smart watch is to have heart rate AND SpO2 reading which I can check anytime and also for outdoor activities such as walking and jogging.

I currently have my eyes on the Mi Watch GPS Global Edition but just browsing through Shopee actually made me realized that there are plenty of options like Amazfit which actually offers better specs (like have always on display) yet not far off from the Mi Watch price.

Best thing is, with offers and discount, it looks like can get better specs with almost the same price.

I actually have no idea about smart watches as I've never bought one hence I'm need of suggestions.

My budget is RM500 max.

Kindly advise.
TNB bill

Inb4 tnb thread 987654321

I pomish you that this thread is different from the rest

The RM231 discount will be reflected in July bill so has anyone received their bill with the discount? How does it look like?

Btw, how does the discount works. We are given RM77/month which totals up to RM231 for 3 months but what if we use less than RM77/month.

Say oni use RM50/month, what happens to the balance of RM27 for that month? Will TNB credit RM77/month regardless of our usage or if less than RM77, the balance TNB/government take back?

If take back, doesn't it mean like rugi for those who use less?

If the balance is taken back, It'll be not fair for those who use less. The balance should be credited in their account and they'd be able to use the balance to offset their bills for following months right?

It should be fair to all. It's Bantuan so it should be helpful for everyone.

If a household only use RM30/month, they won't meed to pay their bills for additional 3/4 months due to the Bantuan of RM231 credit into their account.

House Purchase Concerns

Hi all,

I'm in the midst of purchasing a house but there are two concerns:

1. I was told by the lawyer that in order to purchase the house I intend to buy, the lawyer needs to get approval from the government before the purchase can proceed. This process will take about 2 months.

The house is a freehold house but he said there are certain areas/places where the land the house is on was previously a private land or government acquired land (he said something along these lines, but I didn't understand well) hence before any purchase can be done they will first need to obtain approval from the government (exco or something). Once they have obtained the approval, then only the purchase can take place.

Has anyone heard of this before or has any information about it?

I'd really appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this.

2. My lawyer also told me that we can do trustee (pemegang amanah) if we would like to purchase a property for example for our child but can't use their name due to bumi/non bumi issue hence we use our child in laws name to purchase the property but create this trustee thing hence if anything happens the property won't go to the in laws family member.

I'd really appreciate if anyone knows about this and can share it with me.

Thank you.

3G/4G/LTE signal repeater/booster

Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy a 3G/4G signal repeater/booster as the 3G and 4G signal in my house is very poor but outside of my house is good. I've tried to lodge a complain to the telco but as usual, no action is taken.

As for other telco, they're all the same hence even if change to other telco, I'll face the same thing. I've tried all telco to be honest, and they're all the same. Only Webe is fine but even on 4G, can only get max 5Mbps and even that it is very inconsistent.

I've been looking around for this repeater/booster on Lazada but I'm not sure if it'll work hence would like to ask if anyone is using such thing to get better signal.

Thanks.

Route / Public Transport Suggestion

I'm currently residing in Seremban and barely go to KL hence I don't know what's the best option for me to travel.

I'd be having training for 10 working days in PJ 8 (8 Avenue Business Centre) hence looking for the cheapest and easiest way for me to travel to and fro daily. I have a car but not planning to drive due to traffic and so far it seems that parking in 8 Avenue is expensive from 9am to 5pm. I'm planning to travel by Grab/Uber and/or public transport as long as expenses is less than traveling by car.

I've two options in mind:

1. Stay in my sister's house in Lestari Puchong and travel from there daily. According to Google Maps, it's 36 minutes drive (29KM) without toll. Not sure about the traffic during morning and evening. I've no idea how to get to 8 Avenue from my sister's house.

2. Travel daily from Seremban via public transport but not sure how long the journey will take and I've no idea which bus/train to take from KL Sentral (travel by KTM from Seremban to KL Sentral).

Thank you in advance.
