Which Media Player?

My WDTV live first generation was struck by lightning.
I am now looking for a replacement but I do not know which one?
My WDTV Live is use to access my desktop which is running win7 home premium, via a LAN cable.

I do not know whether to buy back the newer WDTV or try other media player?
My friends says sent the out-of-warranty unit for repairs but I do not know how and or worth to be repair?

My budget is about RM350. If less the better.
Hope that is UI and interface is easy and intuitive.
Easy to get it connect to my PC and able to read the files without many settings and configuration!
All my videos and pictures are in the 3 different hard disk in the PC.
Some of the videos are in tp, avi and mp4 format but most are mkv - 720 and 1080p.

I tend to fast forward and rewind a lot, cos I watch lots of sageuks and trying to learn the language.
So ability to render or display and selection of subtitles is a must for me.

Hi Guys!
What's the name of the device that can connect 2 rig to 1 monitor via DVI + audio.
I have seen DVI but no audio.
And how to connect audio? Any device with Optical SPDIF Port, which is audio right?
If possible brand, model number and price. And where can I buy it.

Recovery Partition.

If have SSD and HDD.
SSD as usual have the Win7 HP and all the needed programs and apps.
Where should the hidden recovery partition be?
Will I be able to use hidden recovery partition if it is in the HDD?
or what do you advice?

Sorry I do not where to post this question.
Software section seems so few sifu and helpful forumers.

Which MS Windows OS to migrate to?

I'm new at this windows operating system.
As you all know now XP no support, do not know to migrate to which windows?
I have a P4 system with 4TB of data. This rig is only for downloads, storing my design works, emails and surf internet.
Please suggest a cheap MS windows OS and at what price should I pay for it?
