Hi all sifus,

I would like to know if below connections will enable my HT to play 5.1 sound:

astro beyond, ps3, ac ryan media player, HT ---> HDMI---> TV

TV--->optical cable---> HT.

will the TV downmix the audio becoming 2.0 and to be played by my HT. As far as i know optical can play 5.1 but i am not sure if this TV shall downmix it?

Please help clarify or suggest the best way to do connections. Thank you very much
