City Girl vs Kampung Girl

Ayam dilemma. Ayam aunts say ayam too old and it's time for married. Says she got some kampung girls lined up looking for man with stable job. All her own dotter are city girls, she says they are too independent and career minded. Kampung girl don't ask for much, knows how to keep house and low maintenance.

Whereas ayam mom says I should look for a city girl as ayam from city. Chinese got saying, guy with wood door must marry girl with wood door, bamboo door with bamboo door etc. Says if the girl too different, we will have nothing to talk about and ayam will get annoyed as she is too ulu in mindset. Also in modern era, both parents need to work and can hire help to keep house cuz money > everything.

So how? Which would you pick, given the chance?

India Bans Single Use Plastics

India has imposed a ban on single-use plastics on items ranging from straws to cigarette packets to combat worsening pollution in the nation of nearly 1.4 billion people.

The ban on single-use plastic items includes straws, cutlery, earbuds, packaging films, plastic sticks for balloons, candy and ice cream, and cigarette packets, among other products, the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a statement on Friday.

For the first stage, the government has identified 19 plastic items that it said are not very useful but have a high potential to become litter and the new ban makes it illegal to produce, import, stock, distribute or sell them.

Some disposable plastic bags will also be phased out and replaced with thicker ones to encourage re-use.

Plastic manufacturers had appealed to the government to delay the ban, citing inflation and potential job losses.

India’s federal environment minister Bhupender Yadav said at a news briefing in New Delhi on Friday that the ban had been in the pipeline for a year.

“Now, that time is up,” he said.

Plastic waste has become a significant source of pollution in India, the world’s second-most populous country, and rapid economic growth has fuelled demand for goods that come with single-use plastic products, such as straws and disposable cutlery.

Thousands of other plastic products – such as plastic bottles – are not covered by the ban. But the federal government has set targets for manufacturers to be responsible for recycling or disposing of them after their use.

This is not the first time that India has considered a plastic ban. But previous iterations have focused on specific regions in the country, resulting in varying degrees of success.

Satyarupa Shekhar, the Asia-Pacific coordinator of the advocacy group Break Free from Plastic, said a nationwide ban that includes not just the use of plastic, but also its production or importation was a “definite boost”.

India, which uses about 14 million tonnes of plastic annually, lacks an organised system for managing plastic waste, leading to widespread littering.

Streets across India’s towns and cities are littered with used plastic goods that eventually choke drains, rivers and oceans and also kill animals.

Firms such as PepsiCo, Coca-Cola Co, India’s Parle Agro, Dabur and Amul had lobbied for straws to be exempted from the ban. Other than the food and beverage and consumer goods companies, plastic manufacturers had also complained about the ban that they say did not give them adequate time to prepare for the restriction.

Some experts believed that enforcing the ban might be difficult.

Ravi Agarwal, the director of Toxics Link, a New Delhi-based advocacy group that focuses on waste management, said that the ban was “a good beginning”, but its success will depend on how well it is implemented.

The government has decided to set up control rooms to check any illegal use, sale and distribution of single-use plastic products. But the actual enforcement of the law will be in the hands of individual states and city municipal bodies.

According to the United Nations, plastic waste is at epidemic proportions in the world’s oceans, with an estimated 100 million tonnes dumped there. Scientists have found large amounts of microplastic in the intestines of deep-dwelling ocean mammals like whales.

Now they have been replaced by Banggala, I also dunno what to get. Worried they say the jiken rice not halal (it's not).

Lemonade

Dekat negeri orang, there are many commercial lemonade brands, available off the shelf and at fast food places. Contoh di bawah.

But in Malaysia, it's not a common thing. Although limau ais is one of the most popular drinks, it has to be squeezed fresh everytime. Whereas oren juice is very common in bottled form.

Do you know any commonly available lemonade brands?
Gatorade used to make this special flavour called Limau Gedang, but now no more.

Family Business vs Self-Made

Ayam has many friends of the T1 variety whose entire lives have been planned by the family. Typically they get to do anything they want until early 20s, go overseas and get whatever degree, then come back to run family business.

On one hand, most are jaded and unhappy, being forced into a role they're not interested in and may not even be good at. No chance to try anything else, stressed out by great responsibility, can't just quit or even take long breaks. And people always making comments saying they're just lucky and can't stand on own feet.

On the other hand, wealth is guaranteed, so much so that you'll never experience hardship. Life is good as long as you switch your brain off, most people envy you and there is a long line of bootlickers. Ada wang ada amoi.

So what about you?
Will you give up family wealth and legacy for freedom?
Or is the pack more important than the lone wolf?

Die die must live in Puchong?

So far every single Puchong-ite tells me they hate Puchong. The traffic is insane, there are too many people and it floods all the time. Even the cinis here tell me it's too cinis.

Yet property prices here are high, there is constant development that's always sold out and immediately occupied. These days from one end of Puchong to the other takes 30 min with no traffic. IOI is even reclaiming the mining pools for more land.

I cannot understand this, izzit because support Gobind Singh DAP? Or proximity to massat shop?

Bullying is a common theme in school.
These days with social media, it has become much more complex and multifaceted.
At best, it can 'build character', at worst there can be long term trauma and even suicide.
Dulu when ayam pindah sekolah, got bullied for being the new kid.
Soon learn to fight back, even do some extreme stuff.
After that noone kacau.

But for some kids, can't do anything as they're limited by family background, social status or physical/mental differences.

Starting a religion can an be extremely lucrative venture.
Stay at home, get followers' donations, pilgrims must come to erase sin, piap to exorcise demons, sell water also people buy. All tax free.
Not to mention all that tourism income.

Recent examples like Scientology, Jared Leto, Mindvalley guy, all very successful.

Question is, what is the legality of this in Malaysia?
How come Mindvalley allowed to operate but not Ayah Pin Sky kingdom?
Afaik ROS doesn't prevent registering religions, only illegal to preach to Muslims.
