Need Recommendation On Laptop Upgrade

Hello everyone,

So my story is like this, i am an engineering student who frequently uses engineering program for drawing and calculations, software like Autocad, spacegass, SAP2000 all those. In fact, i quite happy with the boot up speed all those since my laptop already running the Os with M.sata "i think", but I am not very satisfied with the loading speed of my software... it takes quite few minutes to open up a file sometimes.... so here is the question, is it possible if i add an SSD into my AW 17 and run those software in it with a faster speed??

Here is my current spec,

Operating System
Windows 8.1 Single Language 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i7-4170 MQ @ 2.50GHz	52 °C
Haswell 22nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
Alienware 04WT2G (U3E1)
Graphics
Generic PnP Monitor (1920x1080@60Hz)
Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Dell)
4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M (Dell)	36 °C
ForceWare version: 361.75
SLI Disabled
Storage
931GB WD10JPVX-75JC3T (RAID)
10GB LITEONIT DMT-80 (RAID)
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GS40N

If it could be upgraded, which SSD whould you guys recommend to me, probably for about 256GB is the minimum for me.... Thank you very much
