- VA0 revision (heatpipe cooling, MIL-CD compatible)
- Yamaha GD-ROM drive (reads GD-ROMs + backup discs with no issues)
- controller ports, serial port and AV output fully functional
- fan and disc drive much quieter than VA1 units
- case cleaned and dust removed

(WTB) PS3 Slim (CFW)

Hello everyone!

I am looking into getting a PlayStation 3 slim console for educational use (I am looking into game development and I hope to use one for research).

The console has to be modified (or moddable) to run homebrew software, hence it needs to have custom firmware (CFW) of any version installed or any official firmware (OFW) of version 3.55 and below. If the console has an optical drive emulator (ODE) installed, it is fine as long as it also has CFW.

It would be best for the console to bear the model number "CECH-21xxX" or "CECH-25xxX" (you can see it at the rear sticker). "CECH-20xxX" owners are welcomed as well, but consideration is prioritized for the former two models.

Sadly, this means that I am unable to accept any offer from owners of the "CECH-30xxX" and "CECH-4xxxX" series. Sorry, but these consoles cannot be modified to run homebrew software.

I know that a PS3 is not really that expensive these days. But I, just like most people, live with pretty tight budgets. I am looking within a price range of RM4xx-RM6xx, with optional games and/or accessories if possible.
If you are willing to part with your beloved console for the greater good, please PM me. I would gladly appreciate your help.

I currently reside in Kuala Lumpur. If the deal is set, then it is either COD or postage, depending on the circumstances.
