Appointment of Date of Coming into Operation of the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 [Act 716]

As of 28 December 2010, the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 [Act 716] is now in force as of gazette P.U. (B) 545 dated 27 December 2010.

Transitional Provision

With effect to the date of the coming into operation of this Act, Section 136 of the Act required any person who is undertaking an activity to which this Act applies shall, within six (6) months from the date of the coming into operation of this Act, apply for a license, permit or special permit under this Act, as the case may be.

This grace period will end on the 27 June 2011. After this date, legal action can be taken to any person who still has not acquired any license, permit or special permit as required under this Act.

Application for licence, permit or special permit can be made at the nearest state’s PERHILITAN offices.

The Wildlife Department had invited some traders and hobbyist via SMS and word of mouth to briefing and Q&A sessions pertaining to this Act.

However, these events are opened to the public so all are welcomed.

Location: Dewan Orang Ramai Sungai Haji Dorani, Sabak Bernam
Time: 9 am

Session 3
Date: 29th March 2011
Location: Hulu Langat, exact location and time TBA later.
