It was all good, I got my confirmation e-mail. I didn&#39;t get any SMS though, but I thought nothing of it at the time. <br /><br />The next day I got a call from a guy claiming to be from UniFi. He asked me about my appointed installation date and wanted to confirm the time, etc. He also told me I&#39;d have to forward scans of my IC later, as soon as possible. I was like... okay.... TM/UniFi didn;t say anything about this on the website but whatever. bla bla bla we hung up. Later I got an SMS which read:<br /><br /><i>&quot;Dear customer,<br />kindly send us your ic copy frant and back view asap to unifistreamyx2014@gmail.com<br /><br />This is documents used only for your warranty equipment and contract with Unifi. But whatever, I&#39;ll do it later.<br />A few hours later I got the same text again. It all looked very suspicious. Why @gmail? the email address itself is super weird. <br /> <!--emo&:hmm:--><img src='http://static.lowyat.net/style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='hmm.gif' /><!--endemo--> <br /><br />So I called unifi customer service and asked about it and they told me they have no such procedure and advised me to ignore it. <br />Then I asked the about my order status, and to my surprise, they said it was cancelled because they tried to contact me but they couldn&#39;t reach me. Then the customer service guy read my number and it was <b>wrong</b>. That&#39;s why they couldn&#39;t reach me. I thought that was weird, because in my confirmation e-mail that I received, my contact number was correct.<br /><br />And then we realised, someone must have had unauthorized access to the Unifi website, and got my number, and then changed it. No wonder I didn&#39;t get an SMS, or a call from TM itself. That&#39;s how that person called me and knew my number, and my appointment date.
