Head of Department - Marketing and Sales Operation

Dear all,

Good day. Since this is a forum, I would keep it slightly smart-casual.

I am a head of department of a manufacturing company. Currently the job level is considered mid-level management. I have total 13 years working experience - mainly in marketing and sales operation. The current job has last more than 5 years.

My highest qualification is a chartered qualification while I am also well equipped with computer literacy as well as designer's skill which it progressively contributes in my marketing career significantly. Expressly, I am a marketer as well as a sales manager with IT and design background.

Knowing what to prioritise is my core strength, followed by the willingness to do hands-on work, acknowledge the benefit of continuous learning. Not to mention that, I am hoping to develop myself together with a worth-working-with company for long term. Please feel free to email me @ robert.fkang@gmail.com for more information and resume.

Thank you for reading this, and I am looking forward to hear from you (I am look forward to hearing from you).
Disappointment on Universities' "salesman"

I am writing here to express my disappointment as well as to create awareness of such situation. Hope someone can do something to save the education sector.

I was from education as well. I have been working in this industry for a couple of years and I am lucky to enter the right institution at the quite-right time.

Here is what happened. There are many types of qualifications in this world and not many know how to differentiate them. But as a so-called course consultant, you should know, or at least have the basic knowledge of it and NOT DAMN IT HARD SELLING.

Back to the topic, out of many types of qualifications, there are something called "chartered". For instance, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CIM, CPA, ICAEW, and the list go on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_..._United_Kingdom

So, I would just called this as "ACCA" type of qualification, since many people only know that.

I have asked around with "ACCA" to identifying the entry point of this qualification. Expressly, can this qualification granted entry to Degree, Master, or PhD?

However, sadly, most salesmen are also now the acting head of academic.

Ridiculous questions such as below popped up.

What is the CGPA of your "ACCA"? (Nothing to comment)
Is that "ACCA" an online course? (This must be a joke)
Is this "ACCA" recognised? (Come on)
Why you take "ACCA" as it is not MQA. (That is all you know? Seriously?)

And there are worse situations.

Situation A
ME: Can you help me check with your academic team on this?
SALESMAN: I can ensure you this "ACCA" is not recognised.
ME: (Seriously?) Can you just help me double check?
SALESMAN: No need, I am sure.

Situation B (similar situation happened like situation A but since he is more polite, we continue the conversation)
ME: I see, so this "ACCA" can granted entry to degree?
SALESMAN: Yes, our degree is 3 years.
ME: Any exemption?
SALESMAN: No.
ME: But this is "ACCA", it should at least get exemption for accounting subjects.
SALESMAN: Sorry, but seriously need to start from year 1.
ME: Can you help me double check?
SALESMAN: I am certain, sir.

Speechless, never going to education fair again. Feel like go into a group of credit card and insurance salesmen.

Perodua Service Centre and Warranty

Hi guys,

I have just recently collected my Perodua Bezza and I realised that there are scratches and bubbles on the installed film.
What is the procedure to claim the warranty? Anyone has experience on this?

In addition, I understand that Perodua Service Centers are not so 'aligned'. Some are good, some are not so.
Can anyone share some experience with me? Like which service center has better service and so on. Your help will be very much appreciated.

I live in KL, btw.

Warranty Void?

Dear members of car club,

I am planning to install brake lock and mirror fold for my car which is still under warranty.

I have some experience in related field and I heard (from others in car accessories industry) that installing certain type of ICE like, amplifier or things that would affect the electronic components, will void the car warranty.

I just wanna get some good views for you guys in this. Will installing brake lock and mirror fold void my car warranty?

Thanks in advance, guys.

Unethical Institution

Thanks all for coming in.

I have joined a college and the program I have studied is not accredited, but somehow they have the initial approval to offer the program. So, after I graduated, they unable to make the program accredited. And, my certificate of the mentioned program is actually, kind of, useless.

So, now, what should I do? Can I complain to ministry? Or ask for refund? But the college is quite powerful and rich of political network. They have lawyers, some former ministers and some heads of Jabatan with them. What actually I can do?

I found out from a friend, I do not know how serious is it, and what he have done so far. What should I do? Change password, I have already done.

Should I launch a police report? Because I really do not know what have he done? He could use my emails for illegal things like drug dealing, or maybe something stupid like send racist email or insult others.

Need some real advice here. Thank you.
