Farm workers. Well, besides handling the cows and sheeps, they do need workers to pack milk as well. Apart from tasting the fresh milk, you can also enjoy the great scenery in the working farm!

American teens are waiting to have sex

Teens who choose to protect themselves the first time they have sex correlates to young people who continue to practice safe sex. “It sets you on a trajectory of being a contraception user,” said Gladys Martinez, the report’s lead author and a statistician with the National Center for Health Statistics. In fact, the report notes that teen girls who do not use some form of contraception the first time they have sex are twice as likely to become teen moms as those who do.

There’s a lot missing from this report. It doesn’t contain data on oral sex, or sexual acts other than intercourse. (Data shows one in seven teens who have not had intercourse have engaged in oral sex.) But the myopic focus of the report is understandable, as it is specifically meant to understand risk of teen pregnancy. And though teen sex may have stalled, teen pregnancies and birth continue to fall. In 2013,

the U.S. birth rate for teens ages 15 to 19 hit 26.5 births per 1,000 dropping 57 percent from its peak in 1991. Even that all-time low is one of the highest teen birth rates in the developed world, one that costs the public $9.4 billion a year.

“Teens are doing a whole hell of a lot right,” said Bill Albert, Chief Program Officer for The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. “There has been progress in all 50 states, and across all racial and ethnic groups. That progress has been very wide and deep.”

The credit for such progress, Albert says belongs to “a common sense approach” to sex education—one that includes advice urging both abstinence and contraception—the kind that the US Department of Health and Human Services keeps in a database of successful evidence-based programs.

Still, Albert concedes there is more work to be done.

“The message here is that progress can and has been made on a very challenging social issue and the credit goes to teens themselves,” he says. “But it is not time to hang a ‘Mission Accomplished’ banner or declare victory. It’s not like a polio vaccine, where you get a shot and are immune. We need to continue to work.”

According to a Danish study , frequent sex may help prevent pre-eclampsia. Researchers believe it’s because of a protein found in sperm that can regulate the body’s immune system. Yet because the cause of preeclampsia is unknown, it’s important to keep your prenatal visits and talk to your doctor about your risk.

4. Lowered blood pressure
Although your blood pressure may be lower right after having sex, it’s only temporary so the cure isn’t sex all the time, Faulkner said. Since high blood pressure can be serious for both you and your baby, it’s important to work with your doctor on ways to prevent or control your blood pressure.

China sacks deputy sports minister ahead of Olympic decision

Almaty in Kazakhstan is the only other bidding city, with a decision expected to be announced on July 31.

In a short notice on its website, the Ministry of Human Resources said Xiao had been stripped of his position as a deputy head of the General Administration of Sport, the equivalent of a vice minister. It did not elaborate.

Telephone calls to the General Administration of Sport, to seek comment, went unanswered.

It has not been possible to reach Xiao for comment and the government has given no other details of the investigation.

Last month, the Communist Party’s anti-graft watchdog, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said Xiao was being probed for suspected “serious breaches of discipline and the law”, the usual euphemism for corruption.

Corruption in international sports is in focus because of a U.S. and Swiss probe into world soccer body FIFA.

China, which is aggressively seeking to stamp out graft in Party and government ranks, has also sought to eject corrupt elements from its sports establishment, especially within soccer, which has been hit by match-fixing scandals.

Liberia confirms 2nd Ebola death in resurgent outbreak

Deputy Health Minister Tolbert Nyenswah told The Associated Press the woman in her early 20s who died on July 12 was linked to the 17-year-old boy who died last month. Three other confirmed cases are being treated in Monrovia.

He said some of the more than 120 people under observation in Nedowein, southeast of Monrovia, could be discharged once they complete 21 days of quarantine and show no signs of infection.

Liberia lost more than 4,800 lives to Ebola before it contained transmission in May. These are the first known cases since then. The World Health Organization says the new cases are likely not linked to travel.

KOTA KINABALU: An unemployed man has been arrested after a video showing him beating his teenage wife in the city went viral.

The 20-year-old local man was arrested less than 12 hours after the alleged incident that occurred at about 9am Wednesday.

Police chief Asst Comm M. Chandra said the victim, a 16-year-old holder of the IMM13 card, had lodged a report saying that she was beaten by her husband over some family matters.

“The man was nabbed in Sinsuran near where they were living, while the victim was taken to the hospital to treat her injuries,” he said adding that the couple has a 10-month old son.

The 90-second video showed a man literally climbing out of a car and assaulted a woman in a car park.

S Korea reports no new Mers case for 11 days, no death for 5 days

The spread of the Mers virus in South Korea has recently shown signs of abating, Xinhua said. In the past 19 days, only four new cases were reported.

The government may declare an end to the Mers outbreak by early August, said the report.

The death toll has remained at 36 for five days since July 12, leaving the fatality rate at 19.4 per cent.

Thai farmers told to wait for rain, save water for public

Mr Prayuth said military personnel were sent to stop farmers from diverting water released from dams for their farmland.

Authorities earlier asked farmers to hold off on planting rice, but many had already begun growing their crops.

South Korea indicts 63 over probe on defence procurement

The indicted include 10 incumbent or former military generals, a former vice minister, businessmen and brokers.

Mr Kim said at a news conference that the accused were involved in projects to supply the military with body armour, rifles and various equipment loaded at navy ships.

A joint government investigative team has been probing defence procurement projects since November.

Mr Kim said the lack of an effective supervising system on defence procurement projects was blamed for the alleged corruption.

Disney’s first resort in the Chinese mainland “celebrates and incorporates China’s incredibly rich heritage”, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert Iger said in the statement. It’s meant to “delight and entertain the people of China for generations to come”, he said.

Under a strategy Mr Iger calls “authentically Disney, distinctly Chinese”, the world’s largest entertainment company is trying to include as much local content as possible to appeal to Chinese consumers and avoid complaints of cultural imperialism that greeted its resort in France.

KL cabbies blame authorities after being named ‘worst in the world’

PETALING JAYA — Kuala Lumpur Sentral Taxi Drivers Association says it agrees with a website’s claim that Kuala Lumpur’s cabbies are the “worst in the world”.

Its president Badrol Hisham said it was true that taxi services in KL are the worst since the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) had also said it.

“However, SPAD’s involvement with taxi associations is minimum,” he said.

“There are too many taxi drivers out there and it is easy to become one. Anyone can be a taxi driver, even ex-convicts can become taxi drivers. All they need to do is to apply for a taxi driving licence.”

Majority of Malaysian workforce can’t cope with GST, survey finds

KUALA LUMPUR — About 90 per cent of the Malaysian workforce can’t cope with the additional expenses incurred following the implementation of the goods and services tax (GST), according to a recent survey by career resources site Jobstreet.com.

In a statement today (June 30), Jobstreet said that 24 per cent of the respondents in its survey had already faced problems with their expenses even before the GST kicked in on April 1 this year.

PHRAE (Thailand) — Farmers in the drought-hit Nong Muang Khai district yesterday (June 29) used a doll of the popular Japanese robot cat Doraemon in a ritual to ask the deities for rain, instead of the traditional black cat to avoid animal abuse allegations.

The drought-affected corn growers in tambon Wang Luang put a Doraemon doll in a wooden cage and then placed an image of the cartoon character on the cage’s exterior which they marched around their village in the hae nang maew ritual to pray for rain.

KL-Padang Besar ETS yet to be approved by SPAD

We will soon be able to take a train ride from KL to the Malaysian-Thai border in just four hours and 15 minutes, but it’s unclear when exactly will the KL-Padang Besar Electric Train Service (ETS) begin operations.

It was reported last Thursday that KTM announced the ETS service will officially start from July 1 in time for the Hari Raya balik kampung rush, but the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) has yet to give the green light, The Sun reports.
