Compaq Presario V3040TU

Does anyone out there who is facing the same issue with Compaq Presario V3040TU when running on battery power? The unit produces a hissing or buzzing noise when running on battery power. It only disappears when it is on main power.

The noise appears in the front left of the keyboard even though it is very soft and can be annoying when it is in a quiet room.

Here is how you can check it out yourself.

- Find a quiet room.
- Put the notebook on battery power ONLY (switch off main power).
- Run for about 5 minutes when the notebook is slightly warm.
- Move your ear to the left of the notebook (near the network port).
- You should be able to pick up the noise.

My notebook is just less than 2.5 months old.

I would appreciate if someone could advise a solution for this issue.

HP website has a similar problem but it is only for the B series that has to do with the display controller.

Another similar issue has to do with Start -> Control Panel -> Power Options adjustment, but does not work when applied.

Thanks Folks.
