Unifi Connection Problem (Lots of spikes & lags)

Modem: The one provided by unifi
Router: RG-DLINK-WBR2300
Firewall used: not sure

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Since changing from the orange unifi router to the silver one
Problem frequency: Everytime I play online games
Problem description: It has been a miserable period to me as I'm having problems playing online games especially dota2. The game always spike despite having a low ping. I was on wifi while playing the game and decided to use lan cable. Sadly, the problem still persist. The lags & spikes is consistent. Do you guys think it is the router issue? Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

Guys! Does the number of bars shown on our wireless icon matters in order to have a smooth connection when for example playing online games, lan games, streaming videos or surfing the net? If so, to what extend does it matter?

If it matters alot, will the problem be fix if i were to buy a better router or to have an access point in the vicinity of where I used my computers? Any recommendation would be awesome!

Next, is the unifi router (the silver color one) by any chance lousy? compared to the orange one given to us when we first sign up for unifi years ago. This became an issue right after I changed the router. I could NEVER play dota2 anymore. Literally speaking. It spikes like mad and disconnects at a very high rate even if I were to be the only one using the internet in the house.

Apart from hardware or sitting closer to the router or using a lan cable to fix this, any other suggestion on how to improve this problem?

I ask this question because I really don't know what I can do to fix. Googling didn't work as the information presented was beyond my comprehension and also I couldn't find threads in forums that are at least in the year 2014. Hopefully this can help a few netizens facing the same problem as I am

Guys, what's the outgoing server for unifi? I searched google and the articles are years back. I've tried the common "smtp-proxy.tm.net.my" settings along with port 587 and its not working. Newbie here in this area. Please advice ><

I've recently changed my router from unifi and right now I can't play dota2 anymore. The lags and spike is crazy. I've seen people posting stuff about QoS but so far there's none for this particular router model. Anyone have done stuff like these? Comments and advice from all will be appreciated

I've went through their website and it sells luxury watches at a very low price. I'm fine with that. Have anyone of you guys applied to Nottingham Uni in China? and maybe study there before The one located at Ningbo. What's the life there like? I'm planning to study there

Apart from that, I'm kinda stuck at the application part. It is about the english proficiency test section, I have received an email regarding this matter that the Uni accepts the 1119 GCE o level scores but how do you guys actually proof it to them? The score is stated at the bottom of the SPM results slip. Do I send a photocopy of that? Please advice

Banking a cheque into the wrong bank C.D.M

Hey guys! What happens to the cheque when you bank in it into the wrong bank? For example, the cheque is supposed to be banked into CIMB Cheque Deposit machine but now it is banked into the maybank cheque deposit machine. It is going to bounce? or it still can go through but with some sort of bank charges.

I'm having issue setting up the port forward for the game terraria especiaally the part for external port. It has two box side by side "_______-________".

Anyone have any idea how to set this router up? Portforward website don't have the setup guide though. Please advice

Recently i have tried to learn programming. Installed Borland and stuff. I realize that the command prompt is responding to certain stuff I key in. For example, if i wanna check my network ping and who's in my current network. Could this problem came from me editing the environment variable in my PC?

I'm trying to reformat one of my external WD hard disk.

This is my first problem :

I can't even right click the disk to format. It hangs and eventually it becomes unresponsive.

Problem no.2 :

I tried using the command prompt to format it. However, after typing "diskpart" into the cmd, there's no response. It is as if its loading forever.

I'm looking for hp spectre 13T-3000 ultra book. According to reviews from here http://www.engadget.com/2014/03/11/hp-spec...trabook-review/, it suites me. It is relatively light weight, long battery life and not too pricey. However, I don't seem to be able to find a store that sells this. Is there a 2014 version of this laptop? Or its an old model. I'm using a ati radeon hd 6850. going for a triple screen set up, so it is possible that i choose to use a dvi connection (from vga convert to dvi), hdmi connection (hdmi convert to dvi at the monitor) and lastly i use an active display port (display port to vga)?

CPU - intel i5 - 2520m
GPU - ATi Radeon HD 6850 - 1gb
Ram - 8gb performance ram
PSU - 500w

I would like to play games at triple screen setup. The games i would be playing are Project CARS, GTA 5 and CS GO at maximum graphic settings. My budget would be less than rm2k. Any suggestion on any parts to upgrade would be much appreciated
