PROS:

Relatively small sized earphone shells.
Pure Classic retro sound.
Typical Japanese tuning.
Clear mid-high frequency, acceptable resolution, and close to ears’ vocals all help to give the best female vocals.

CONS:
very weak low frequency, which is very prominent when listening to strong rhythm.

Overall, it is very comfortable to wear.
Basically can handle well pop music, female vocals and ACG music; but not for electronic dance music, large compilations and classical music.

Test Report:
As an earphone with moving coil driver, low frequency is often not good. But x49’s low frequency is not bad, only a little weak on rebound and dive. For its price, its performance has been amazing, and one can not be too demanding.

On its high frequency aspect, when playing with k20pro, the high frequency performance is good. Though, sometimes the piercing phenomenon occurs. When changing to m5s, the piercing phenomenon disappears. So low quality sound source will have adverse effect on X49

For big compilation songs, x49 does not has enough capacity to perform well. Sound will get mixed together. After all, that’s the limitation of single moving coil driver.

After changing to small size ear tips, sound insulation will be much better.

In summary, x49 is a good choice for ACG & pure music. This earphone is absolutely good value for money. But it does not perform well for heavy bass and orchestral compilation music.

vocal is more forward but again less peaky

Overall impression: the low-frequency is moderate, and the mid-range and mid-high-frequency parts are very solid and neutral. The high frequency also has a relatively good resolution.

HIGHs' performance: Compared with same grade earphones, its highs has nice resolution.Its high-frequency has very good density and dynamics. The sound is particularly stable and solid when performing string music. When used on high quality players, the music details will be cleaner. Compared to the more relaxed entry-level earphones, such as the Sennheiser MX400ms and MX360, Prada earplugs are better, but relatively inevitable a bit dry, unless you use better music players.

MIDs' performance: ATREE's mid frequency is very clean and has a good resolution, but for entry-level headphones, its mids seems to be too tight. Whereas mid frequency for Sennheiser mx360/mx365 and Sony 0931 is more relaxed, Prada earphones are more focused on higher resolution. Its neutral sound style makes vocals more transparent, and the dynamic is also good under the ordinary mobile phone.

LOWs' performance: the low-frequency of this earphone is relatively moderate, and even somewhat less. ATREE earphone’s relatively lighter sound style may not be very attractive to entry-level users. Nevertheless it can show more music details than other entry level earphones!

It's almost impossible to find earbuds like this anymore, they're all in-ear and I can't wear them at all (autism-related sensory issues), and I wanted to go a step or so higher in quality than the cheapest-possible headphones. These ended up being a fantastic choice - the sound is great and I like the design for aesthetic reasons.
The angled design makes it easy for me to quickly tell the right earbud from the left, which is an issue I had with my old set because they were identical earbuds with just a painted L or R on them.
