Here is my Rig's specs:
OS - Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L
Proc - Intel C2D E6600 2.4GHz 4MB L2 (266.7x9)
Ram - Kingston Value Ram 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz PC6400
GC - Sapphire HD4830 512mb 256bits

I wonder why i cant OC my proc in BIOS. As i've been told before, this proc is very easy to OC from 2.4GHz to 3.2GHz changing the FSB and multiplier only in BIOS, other settings like Vcore and Ram's SPD no need to change.

But my problem is, I got into BIOS and change the multiplier to 8x and FSB to 400MHz (total equals to 3.2GHz) and save then reboot, then i try to get into the BIOS once again and check, my custom FSB has been disabled which means it remains 266.7MHz but the multiplier remains 8x.. I've tried a lot of little OC even 9x278MHz (total equals to 2.5GHz) only also cannot..

Can anyone tell me why? I heard from my friend that my current mobo is kinda troublesome for OCing.. Even if its troublesome, it sure got its own way to OC right? Please help me~

Here i wanna get some confirmation from fellow PROs in LYN, between C2D E4500 vs C2D E6600, how good is E6600 compared to E4500? Is there any huge difference between these 2 chips in terms of games like GTA4, Crysis, and etc..

[WTA] Sumth wrong with my GC or LCD in DVI mode

Hi,

I've just bought a ATI HD4830 for my 2nd rig few days ago, the problem encounter is like...

After installing the GC onto my mobo, connecting the DVI cable from my GC to LCD(samsung 2233sw), then i boot my PC, then i have to install the driver given right? After the driver installed, and it asked to reboot my PC, then i do so. When the system is booting, i still can see the boot screen and windows loading screen, after the windows loading screen, suppose i can see the vista icon then boot into my windows but then i cant, i only hear the booting sound and the LCD remains blank and the indicating LED on the LCD is just blinking (Blinking means no input detected).

I got into safe mode and uninstall the driver and boot the system again, then i able to see everything like normal. I've also tried to download the latest driver from ATI site for my windows vista ultimate x64, reinstalled it, and repeat the same steps as above, the outcome was the same.. I've tried to playing around with the button on my LCD, it doesn't seems work.. I've tried to plug in and out for the DVI cable for several times, sometimes it got display but once i reboot the system, the same thing happens.

But when i change to VGA cable and switch the LCD to detect the input as analog, it works everytime.. How could this happen? I've simply checked via google, no such issue found.. Is there anything wrong with my DVI cable or DVI port on my LCD or DVI port on my GC or the display driver?

1 more weird thing is that, when im using DVI cable and play GTA4, i adjusted the setting in the game for smoother game because the default setting is kinda laggy, but when i exit the game and logon for the next time, all the graphic settings back to default and i have to re-adjust all over again. But when im using VGA cable like now, the setting remains custom, it will load exactly the same graphic setting whenever i logon the game when i use VGA cable.. Can anyone explain this to me?

Hi,

I have a doubt here versus between My Pentium D 940 and C2D E4500, which one is better?

The Pentium D 940 is 3.2GHZ 4MB L2 and C2D E4500 is 2.2GHZ 2MB L2.. My friend told me C2D is better due to difference in technology, cant compare in terms of the clock speed.. Is that true?

I am asking because i got 2 of them, dunno which one to sell as i just got my Q8200.. From both of this, i need a better one to be my 2nd rig.. Please comment me..

WTA something abt n82 and 85..

Hi everyone, im using n82 for almost 1 year already, and how thinking of changing to n85.. is that a right choice?

as i can see from gsmarena.com, the main concern from comparison between n85 and n82 is that the processor and SDRam.

n82 specs are like below:
- 100 MB internal memory
- 128 MB SDRAM Memory
- Dual ARM 11 332 MHz CPU
- 3D Graphics HW Accelerator

n85 specs are like below:
- 85 MB internal memory
- ARM 11 369 MHz processor

im not sure whether they missed up some info or wad, i just wanted to know whether n85 faster in UI response or n82. If there are any other comments between n82 and n85, please just note it here. helps are much appreciated!!

Hi there everyone here, i would like to help my buddy ask something abt PTPTN here.

Here goes the story - He got PTPTN before this and every semester he got result above GPA 2.0 that means every semester he can get PTPTN. But for this semester, he just got the GPA of 1.9292 only but he is allowed to continue his studies under probation for next semester and that means he is not qualified to get the PTPTN load next semester..

- The reason he couldn't get a better result in this semester is due to something happened to his family financing, then he need to work part time to pay for his own life expenses and hence, less revision time for him.

The thing i wanna know, is there any possible that he could negotiate with someone who in charge our PTPTN loan? It is quite unfair to him because he still need to pay for next semester's fees which will cost him RM4xxx, and as i described earlier that he's having some financing problem with his family.. How should he pay for the fees? I'd like to help him but with my savings, it is not enough.

Please do let me know is it possible to negotiate for the PTPTN loan to continue and who/where should we contact.. Really appreciate if anyone can help me and my friend. Thanks!

P/S : He's in UTAR setapak campus, engineering faculty

Here, i feel like wanna OC my system.. Because when i play crysis or assassin's creed, will felt laggy and sometimes even hang for few seconds when there're high graphic effect..

Below are my system's specs:
PSU - SilverStone ST400 400W Real Power
Mobo - Abit kn8 ultra
Proc - AMD64 3000+ venice core 1.8MHz
GC - Msi 9600GSO-OC
Ram - Corsair Value Ram DDR400 PC3200 (2x1GB)

I just bought a Cliptec plus 3.5" external box for my hdd 3 days ago. It supports both IDE and SATA. I wanted to use it for my SATA hdd.

I found a weird case, when i plug everything correctly, and power it up, near the clock there will show "safely remove hardware" icon, but i cant find any external hdd icon in "My Computer".

Can anyone help me with this? My hdd problem or the enclosure problem?

I use this hdd in my own rig, run smoothly without any problem. But now in hometown, and home pc supports only IDE, thats why i get this hdd enclosure.

Please help
