DIY CNC router

Hi all,

I need some advise on CNC routers. I am looking for an affordable CNC router (below RM 1000), those that are mainly used by hobbyist. I have seen some online on Shopee. These are mainly DIY machines and you are required to assemble the router yourself. Unfortunately i have not much experience in this and i am not very confident if i will be able to do it on my own. Can anyone here give me some advise on what i should be looking out for before i make a purchase? Things like software (what is the preferable file format to use) and application to program the machine. Any brands or seller to recommend?

Hi all,

I'm posting some work in progress pics of my kitchen reno. Concept is from me while i asked my ID cousin to recommend a rough kitchen layout. The rest i worked it out with the contractor. Progress has been pretty slow but that's probably because i am taking my own sweet time as well. As you can see, it's far from finish. But the idea is there. Please be nice with comments.

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this but here goes anyway.

I am looking for anyone that might have the same interest as me in fine furniture making (amateurs). Would like to form a support group to discuss about where we can find the suppliers and resources to make our designs into reality. I am not limiting this to just furniture but also everyday items that we may use in the house. Would like to avoid electronic items if possible because that brings in a new set of complexities in manufacturing an actual item. But then again, if you have an interesting design, and you're an amateur maker like me, do drop me a PM. The whole purpose is so that we can help each other.

Hi All,

I am not sure where would be the right place to post this topic but I am trying here. May I know where is the cheapest place in KL/PJ that I can find this wall socket? It must be of 45mmx45mm dimension or 50mmx50mm dimension. It has no switch to it on or off. Just the socket.
