hi LYN

we know everybody needs money la.. but im curious becos it seems like people in different age groups seems to have different views on money..

like youngsters... just started working, so got money shopping till broke or every weekend go chiong go club etc. still live with parents, drive parents car so no need worry bout commitments

then people at the age of say 25, start buy car, so save money pay car.. then got serious relationship with bf or gf dy... so start planning like buy house, get married etc.

then people at age of 30, got house got car, need to start set money aside to pay loans... maybe start invest money and start putting money aside for retirement, or to set up business later on etc

then people at age of 40 and above worry about children's education fees (fees go up every year la crazy), maybe still pay house... worry bout retirement...

people at age 50 and above pula think about retirement and to some, children's education.

so what do you think? what do you think people need in different age groups (below 30, 30-40, 41-50, 51 years old and above)?

Nokia 5300 vs. SE K750

First of all, i really apologize if this thread can actually be replaced with the pinned recommendation thread. but i really dont know where to post this, as i have some other things i want to ask as well. PLease forgive me if making this thread is a sin.

------->>
Hi guys... im kinda lost here.. im getting a new phone but i dont know which to choose.
I checked gsmarena and it kinda seems K750 is more superior than Nokia 5300 in terms of functionality. ratings on that site for 750 is higher too. According to the shop, K750 comes with 64mb memory, but Nokia 5300 has 256mb.

Im really noobish when it comes to phones and all, but I really feel like getting Nokia 5300.
First of all... almost everyone around me as a K750.

Secondly, K750 doesnt look so special, just looks like a conventional phone but with everything dumped into one black chassis.

Thirdly, 5300 looks so neat.

I'm actually looking for a phone that can play music nicely. If i had the cash, i'd buy something like N91, cuz it looks so freaking cool.

But lets look at the downside, for 5300. 1.3MP camera, while K750 has 2.0MP. Now this is where i dont think the shop can be trusted, maybe just not that employee. he said 5300 comes with 2MP, but gsmarena says 1.3

I think im just greedy. Maybe im just looking for a balanced phone. i want to be able to enjoy good quality music while on the go, and i also want to be able to take photos when i need it. i dont think i'll be bringing a phone and a camera wherever i go, so having a 2-in-1 might be good for me. i dont have the dough for a nice MP3 player. how sad. This is for going overseas to study, so im looking for something practical, while not losing on the functionality department.

So guys, which is better really? All the time i've been hearing people praise SE for nice sound quality.
Or should i get something like W800? I think W810 is out of my budget. I'm trying not to spend over RM1K for the phone. how much is a W810i anyway? havent had the chance to survey.
Any other models you guys have in mind? And does using your phone to play MP3 damage your battery life?

New laptop, with 59 processes?!

I ordered a Toshiba laptop, and went to view it today. Unfortunately i cant claim the laptop yet, due to some unforeseen circumstances. I can only claim it a week from now or so.

To make things clear, it comes with a 1.66ghz core 2 duo processor. 1GB ram, 100GB HDD and the rest is pretty much the same as the other models. 15" WXGA display too.

Okay heres the big prob. As i was checking out the laptop, i happened to check out the task manager. and to my horror, 59 processes running?! what the hell is that? how come a new laptop has 59 processes running? could it be that the shop guys played with it when they were setting the softwares i want?
CPU usage was around 1%, not too much, didnt see it go above 5%.
That amount of processes is tooo much for the laptop services and all right?
When i asked the shop guys, why the hell is the startup slow and why the 59 processes, they look dumbfounded and were unable to give me a credible answer. it will still be sometime before i can collect the laptop, so what do you guys think i should do?

I also noticed there were lotsa icons in the taskbar, but didnt check them out thoroughly.
It also comes with Norton. Is norton the reason why the startup is pretty slow?
