Higher Volt Lower Clock = Instability?

Hi, I just got a 6700k ES(Engineering Sample) like few weeks back and every 1 or 2 day I get a BSOD of WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR in Windows 10.

Spec as followed:
i7-6700k Engineering Sample (3.4Ghz default @ 1.187V)
ASUS Z170m
1x 16GB Kingston Value 3400 DDR4 RAM
Zotac GTX1060
CoolerMaster Vanguard 850W

I started off with stock BIOS settings and still it BSOD.

I tried different settings, like bumping up voltage such as running 3.6Ghz/3.8Ghz @ 1.35V which is a higher voltage considering a stock i7-6700k should run at 4Ghz @1.2V. I ran Prime95 for 30 minutes and it's all good but it BSOD on random task like browsing web site/play youtube etc(surprisingly it rarely crash when gaming)

So my question is, can I run at a higher voltage but at a slower clock? Or will that cause stability issue? And if any of you happen to have this ES(2.6Ghz version) which I got from a LYN forumer in Garage Sales, what sort of settings are you guys running on?

Same Job Different Company

Ok, let me give a quick review about my background, I just graduated last June and had been working with a small startup near to my uni and where I stay(5min walking distance) since then. My pay is RM3.5k and for now, most of the time I will be working from home unless I am summoned to office or to meet client some place else. My work is generally Android app development altho I did some automation/mining tool for my company too.

One of my boss offer me a new job in another new bigger startup(not really a startup as that company is UK based and currently setting up their Asia branch and they JV with a local listed company here) and he invite me to join them as he will be joining them too. I will still be working with my current company on a part time basis, netting me half of my current salary whcih is RM1.75 not deducted by EPF since it's a part time job. He will be working over there too while running this one.

So this new company is generally bigger and possibly with better opportunity and I still work from home but the pay offered is RM3k, which is RM500 less than what I'm getting. My job is still developing Android application for them.

Part time job is not an assurance but basically I'm getting fulltime 3K(Before EPF/SOCSO) and part time 1.75k per month which roughly a clean salary of RM4.4k.

So roughly, I still work from home(unless summoned to office which is in bangsar and I'm quite far away), get RM500 less pay, doing the same job just different project. I've been developing Android application for almost 2 years since my university time and I have quite an amount of personal projects than most university grads have. An idea of my skill level will be I built a peer 2 peer torrent like file transfer library for Intel back when I was doing internship in my university so I think it's really bad for them to reduce what I would get considered I have more experience and slightly better than average IT grads, at least make it on par with my current offer or something

I'm split so I need some advise, looking at better future, jump is better but the offer they made feels like they are just underpaying or underestimating me which I personally feel offended.

I have 16GB kit G.Skills 1866Mhz RipsawX ram but when I check in my BIOS, it says they are clocked at 1333Mhz. I try change it to 1866Mhz and my machine won't even boot and I had to reset my BIOS.

Anyone have any idea? Im on AMD setup btw, rig is in my signature if that helps.

I plan to buy either Sniper 2x8GB(16GB) 1866Mhz or RipsawX 2x8GB 1866Mhz RAM.

I did some research and they say Sniper is newer and slightly better in OC.

Sniper is like 509 while RipsawX is 559 by lingloong. I like RipsawX because the blue fits my mobo well.

I already planned to go for Sniper since it's cheaper and perform better but just now I found a new 2x8GB in GS for RM450 which make it RM59 cheaper than Sniper. So I'm really torn between these 2.

Anyone can give some advise on this?

FX-8350 vs FX-8320

AMD FX 8320 AM3+ 3.5GHz 16MB Black Edition 8-Core Processor - RM 527.00
AMD FX 8350 AM3+ 4.0GHz 16MB Black Edition 8-Core Processor - RM 667.00

These are the price I got from feiton thread so both of them have RM150 gap. I read online but it seems people recommend 8350 due to it's just $20 extra over their place while it's $45-50 here. FX-8350 also seems to be the better yield than 8320 for obvious reason.

The question is due to the price gap, is FX8320 a better deal or FX8350 a better deal? I believe in terms of performance on stock, they won't differ by much, right?

I just got my ASUS M5A99X Evo R2.0 board but the bad news is that ASUS removed core unlocking feature, leaving me at 3 cores on my 720BE so I'm looking to replace it.

FX-8350 vs i5 4670

I'm current using 720BE with 4th core unlocked and I'm going to have my R9-280X GPU(paid but waiting on stock).

The problem is I can't just swap CPU to FX8350 since my motherboard is an AM3 one which means I will need to change my board too(I'm using SSD but I'm on SATA2 so eventually I will change this anyway). Since I'm changing both, I got an option to go for Intel or AMD based system.

I did some research and usually people will recommend AMD if I'm going to use it for heavy multi-threading and especially with Mantle utilising all CPU core feature coming out soon.

Usage wise, I think they both won't have any difference in normal usage. What I want is perhaps just a better frame rate in game, something nice to go with my new GPU, and I'm a multi-thread focused programmer(actually doing something related to parallel processing for my Master).

Budget wise, I hope it's 1k for both CPU and motherboard but I'm also thinking to stretch it out if I want to grab something like an i7 4770 but not sure if it's worth it or not.

Graphic card upgrade

Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my graphic card for Battlefield 4 but I'm still undecided which one to go for.

I found

1) 7950(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127737) for RM693

2) 7850(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150642) for RM442.75,2 pcs for RM885.5

I not sure which option should I go for. Option 1 have gold tier award game which means I most likely able to claim a copy of BF4 when it's added the that gold tier reward. If I go for option 2, I will need to fork out extra RM150 for the game.

And also, my current mobo doesn't support 2 card so most likely I would need to spend another 300-400 on option 2. I got plan to upgrade mobo anyway.

Is crossfire worth the go or it's better to stick to a single card for now? 9xxx series is expensive and only those high end card get released first. I don't want to wait for mid-end card just to get the free BF4 with it.

Freelance Projects

Hi, I'm an IT fresh graduate, in fact I just finish yesterday lol and I worked on a 2 freelance before, 1st one I start without even talk about the payment, 2nd I just got offered by my lecturer and I think it's simple and I'm free so I just do it and the pay was nice to me at least.

I'm thinking of doing some freelance aside with my day job but I not sure how much to quote when some asked me how much will that be.

Well, I specialise in C#, Java or Android application but I would be interested to try other stuff as well.

I'm just interested in how much you guys usually charge or decide how much to charge.

Regarding to my daily job, it's a small 4-5 man company, small software development team, flexible working hour(sometimes work from home) so I would like to earn some extra bucks while learning more during my free time, so I don't see there is a problem in it. I'm well paid (3.5k for fresh grad if you want to know) so I will be a bit choosy when picking up project xD

Should I take the offer?

I'm currently doing my internship in my university as research assistant for Intel project.

Last week, I got an offer from a lecturer to continue my master, with a payment of RM2k/month for 1.5 years. It should be a full time master, so I'm aiming to finish it in 1 year but I'm still going to receive my payment even I finish it early.

Overall, I'm being paid to do my master.

Benefits:
- 0 payment all covered master (Should be Master in Computer Sceince)
- MOHE (Ministry of higher education) project
- Work inside university, university lifestyle?
- RM 2k/ month (36k contract I assume?)
- No need rush to buy car, stay back the same place where I'm currently living

Cons:
- Payment might get delay up to 2-3 months
- 6 hours max/week admin/tutor/no work depends what they want me to do.
- I'm interested in part 2 of the project, not part 1. I'm afraid I will lost interest halfway

I'm a development sort of guy. I know this is something not I really interested in doing but assume I'm working, I will definitely work in some projects I'm not so interested but it's work so I will need to do it anyhow.

I'm currently in a dilemma. Everything seems fine with the offer, in fact it's a very good offer and the only thing stopping me to say yes will be the topic and me being able to commit to this. I'm 21.5 years old(December kid) so it don't really matter for me to spend 1 year+ since I still got plenty of time ahead. I assume, eventually when I work, I had to commit to my job as well and perhaps this is good way to train myself how to adapt it. Difference is, I got a choice not to do this and just proceed to working world.

I am currently doing my Internship for an Intel project based in my university(private local) as research assistant. It's some work with peer to peer technology on embedded system.

I heard from my lecturers that some lecturer are offering RM2k salary if you want to work as his/her research assistant and the university will offer you free Master as well as long you finish it in 2 years time. I can also opt to be a tutor and I get around 1.7-1.9k with free Master as well.

I did some survey on the outside world and I see most of the salary range stay around 2.5k+-, so I wonder if it is a wise choice to go for lower pay and get a Master instead?

I consider research field of work as my comfort zone since I will be working inside my university. I'm enjoying the work I'm doing actually. I need to spend 2 years on a topic if I opt for Master and that worries me a bit since I'm not the type that can stick to a project for long. I enjoy working on different technology for a period of time then switch to another and that's how I do it throughout my whole university life.

I'm slightly disappointed with the salary range for my field of work actually, considering how much time I spent on multiple personal projects. As in, I'm sad to know that I'm receiving the same pay as my friends when I have slightly more experience than them.

I am not those high pointer student(just slightly above 3) but I spend most of my time working on personal project(I don't do freelance because it's my university life, I want to do something I feel like doing or learning, earning money can come later).

Sorry if it sounds like someone ranting. I choose this field when my family members asking me to go Engineering. The least I could do is to prove I get a job with decent pay and with good company to show them IT is not as bad as they think .

In this mode, you win the game as usual, capturing objective/push cart just like what the maps offered.

However, if you die, you will be freezed on the spot you died. Teammate can unfreeze by attack you using a melee weapon for 1 time. You will then enter a "reviving" process which will take 5 seconds to complete.

If an enemy hit you with a melee weapon when you are in "reviving process", you will be frozed back again. The countdown timer for revive will reset as well. This is what we called as "Deny" which you prevent an enemy from reviving.

If you survive the "Revive" process, you will be unfreezed and your health and ammo will be replenished, just like you touch a supply cabinet.

You will stay freezed for 30 seconds before you will be auto respawned. You can turn this feature off using !autorespawn command. If this feature is turned off, you will need to use !respawn command to respawn yourself. If you are in the "Reviving" process, this feature will be auto disabled.

If your whole team is freezed, the whole team will be respawned back in base in 5 seconds.

Freezed player will use humiliation state pose.

During the reviving process, you will emit a beacon under your feet.

Tips:

1) Be alert, try to save those people you can save.

2) You can try suicide yourself saving some guys and hope they will save you when they are unfreezed.

3) Rushing too front might be not a good idea because most likely no one will be able to save you and you will need to sit out for 30 seconds which is a big hit to your team.

4) Make more friends, get some strategy which you can abuse the ability to spawn back on the same position to give your team a big advantage.

5) If most of your enemy is freezed then use this small window of time to make something happen. Either saving your teammates or pushing your cart etc.

Hi, as you guys know, CSGO is not so happening and our dedicated server is under utilise most of the time. I don't mind to host another 10 more empty server so since I have vast resources, I would like to help out the local CSGO clans mainly. We consider this as a chance to help out others and also a chance to promote ourselves.

Our server is located in Singapore, network by Starhub and sponsored by eClub Malaysia. If you refer to the IP, our servers just locate side by side with eClub's CSGO servers.

These are some details of our server:

You will have almost full control of the server. However, we can't give you RCON but you can partially manage your server using SourceMod Admin. Mobo/PSU Problem?

I have a spare machine which I bought long time ago from a friend(2nd hand). I've been using it 24/7 for 1 year until the PSU died and I replace it with Acbel 350W.

Around 4-6months ago, whenever I turned on the machine, the fan light at back casing light up and fan start spin for 1 second then everything stop. I tried to switch the processor last time and it didn't work and I threw it aside.

Recently I pull it out again, I on it and surprisingly it turns on as in all light and fans are constantly spinning but no video output. Remove RAM, no beep, change the processor to another spare one and still same.

I suspect it might be motherboard issue but i read around and some say might be PSU issue as well.

Need some help on finding out what's wrong before I can fix it. I don't have any spare PSU lying around
