My Laptop Keyboard Won't Work

Sifus, please help!

I use a Compaq V3614 for almost 2 years now. It runs on Vista Ultimate 64bit.

I have never made any hardware modification except upgrading my ram from a 512MB to a 2GB. I often keep my computer on and hardly shut it down.

Today, as usual I moved my mouse and attempted to type my password in to log on, I realized the keyboard won't work, AT ALL.

I tried rebooting and it just wouldn't work. After logging in using the on-screen keyboard I found that everything is fine, except I couldn't type anything.

I hope sifu sifu here can help, just maybe give me some possibility of what might wrong.

Thanks!!!!

How to know if I am being con and how to know if my purchase is a smart one?

I'm buying particularly the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8, Nissin Di622 for Canon and BG-E3. Currently I am offered RM1050 for the 1 year and 5months old Tamron. What do y'all think?

Journalism Diploma

Hi all, I need some input here.

I had a 2-year mass communications studies in TAR College from 2005-2007 with journalism as my major. I only graduated this March as I had out standing papers.

While waiting to resit my outstanding papers, I've took up a teaching job and I've been working for a year now.

I'm now looking into the possibility of going back into the media line, mainly into journalism, photojournalism or broadcasting with any mainstream media companies. Is there anyone here with experiences in this field? Can I have your comments please?

I am wondering if a diploma is enough to survive in these companies as I do not plan to go university anytime soon. I haven't practiced my writing for a year now, will companies be willing to hire me anyway and allow me to pick up from there? How's the hours like?

And lastly, how to apply for these kind of jobs? i don't see classifieds by these companies....

Thank you.

O2 Atom Exec Paired with BT GPS Reciever

Hello all,

I'll be joining the press soon and my job requires me to move around the klang valley alot. I want a pda with GPS function for me to know where I'm going.

I like the Atom Exec, it's one of those I've been eyeing on since like forever. Now that I could finally own one, I wonder if pairing it with a Bluetooth GPS reciever is a good idea. Or should I just get one of those with a build in like the HTC P3300? Of course, that would be more expensive.

Will there be any complications if I get the Aton Exec and BT GPS reciever for GPS? What are things I should look into when buying the reciever? How much would a reasonably priced one cost?

Please help me out...

Hi all,

I'm a total noob when it comes to audio stuff and all, but I've been having this problem and it's very annoying. I need some professional help.

Sometime ago I bought a Philips headphone (a considerably good one which cost me RM30+) and I loved it until one of the sides stopped working.

Recently I bought a Sonicgear headphone (HP600) and the same thing happened after using it for a few months.

Is there a way to preserve my headphones?

Where can I fix my old baby?

My dad passed me this old SLR camera when I was 12 and I loved the pictures produced by it's 50mm f1.8 lens. I haven't used it for years until recently I decided to take it out and play with it again. I found out that I couldn't turn the spring thing (I dunno what is it called) and I can't press the shutter.

I just want to ask you all if you know where can I fix this prized antique with a very reasonable price in KL. I probably won't use it as I just got my 400D already. I just want to get it fixed and keep it as an antique.

Here's the picture:

I really loved it. I'm sad that it's spoiled.

Hi all. I'm getting my Canon 350D very soon (if God willing). I just thought maybe I would just post some photos I've taken with my friend's Canon 350D. These photos are taken from my work place. Not too much as my boss was not too happy about me taking the pictures and yes, you guessed it. I'm a teacher.

All pictures are taken using Canon 350D with the kit lens attached.

One of the teachers overseeing a roleplay done my the kids.

Girl: I'll smack you with my butterfly wand is you come closer!

Telling the story to the student. But now... I need some constructive comments (though my subjects may not be as interesting).

Thank you!

A Canon 400D or a 350D?

Dear Sifus, I need help, or rather, I need affirmation la.

I have only RM2500 to spare as a reward for myself this Christmas. I'm currently looking at the possibility of getting a Canon 400D or a 350D. I see the pros and cons of buying both the cameras with my budget.

The pro if I buy the 400D means I get 10 MP (which I don't really need) and more importantly, the built in sensor cleaner. But the con is that I won't have enough to get another lens for myself as I plan to get a 50mm f1.8 as well.

However the pro of buying a 350D is that it's cheaper now (Can get it at 2k only!). Relatively good though it may not a a sensor cleaner and I could actually buy the 50mm f1.8 with the remainder of my RM2500 after buying the camera. The con is, I will not have 10MP and no sensor cleaner.

I just want to know if I'll lose much for not getting the 400D. If the sensor cleaner is that important. If dust would collect on the sensor that easily and if servicing my camera is expensive.

Please help me clear the air. I just want to make sure I didn't make the wrong purchase.

Sekian, thank you sifu-sifus!

Dear computer gurus,

I'm a college student. I use my desktop to do my assignments. I have a problem, however.

I was doing my assignments, halfway through my computer went blank- it just went off. I've checked my cables and made sure my computer programmes are okay, but still I don't know what's wrong.

It has happened a few times, and randomly. It's frustrating because I kept losing the stuff I was in the midst of doing. There's auto recovery but still, it only saved a portion of my work.

I ask that you all would help me. I really don't know why my desktop is shutting off on it's own. *sob*
