Hi Fellow moderators,

I tried a few times to open some constructive topics in real world issues but i don't see my topic being posted.
Can anyone tell me where i've gone wrong??

Cheers and have a nice day ahead.

[addedon]September 17, 2008, 9:18 pm[/addedon]
QUOTE(mytescocom @ Sep 17 2008, 09:14 PM)

Hi Fellow moderators,

I tried a few times to open some constructive topics in real world issues but i don't see my topic being posted.
Can anyone tell me where i've gone wrong??

Cheers and have a nice day ahead.

BTW....this was the content that i wanted to post...Anything wrong with it?

Hi All,

I would like to open a discussion thread based on Malaysia's Petrol price based on current market rate.

The last i heard is that MY government will review petrol prices every 15 days. It's already 17th September and there's still no news of a new petrol price.
Crude oil is currently trading at USD 94 per barrel.
Here's my calculation based on how we can convert USD per barrel to RM per litre.
One barrel is equivalent to 42 US Gallons (There's a difference between US and UK gallons).
One US Gallon is equivalent to 3.79 litre. So this makes one barrel equivalent to 159.18 litres (42 x 3.79)

Using 1 USD = 3.5 RM,
The formula to calculate RM per litre is as follows: (USD crude oil price per barrel / 159.18) times 3.5.

At current market value of USD 94 per barrel, price per litre is (94/159.18) times 3.5 which is RM2.06 per litre.
So if the goverment is subsiding 30 sens, we should be getting RM1.76 per litre.

Now if we roll back few weeks ago where our petrol price was reviewed, the market price per barrel was around USD130. So we get (130/159.18) times 3.5 = 2.86 RM per litre. If Govmen subsidies 30 sen, we get our current pump price at 2.55.

Please give me your thoughts.

Hi Guys,

Need your advice for those that current have a housing loan.

Does your bank give you monthly statements?

I'm using Southern Bank (now CIMB) and they only give housing loan statement every year. They don't even give me my monthly statement for my monthly payment.
When i asked for my latest statement, the bank will charge me RM10. I need the statement to apply for new EPF monthly withdrawal.

Does loaners of Maybank, HSBC, RHB and other banks practice it the same way as well?

Need your thoughts and opinion on this as well.

Thanks and much appreciated
