Box for shipping

Hi, anyone knows where to get boxes for international shipping?

I looked online and found some couriers provide boxes, but those couriers are rather expensive for what i need.

I want a cheap courier cause shipping items are not very valuable, and time is not so urgent. Currently thinking of Pos Malaysia ordinary postal parcel.

Does Pos Malaysia provide boxes? If no where can i find one (in Penang)?
I'll need something around 45x45x25 cm (around the size of a medium ATX PC case)

Sentra or Gen2

Hi everyone, I'm considering buying my first car, need help in choosing between the two below:

A) Nissan Sentra 1.6 AUTO (used - circa 2005/2006 model)
B) Proton Gen2 CPS 1.6 H-Line MANUAL (brand new)

The Nissan Sentra is my uncle's, he's changing to a new car soon. Below are the few factors that i'm considering:

1) Fuel consumption
2) Regular servicing cost
3) Repair and parts cost
4) Reliability

Both cars are selling at around the same price, so car price is not a factor here, what i'm concern about is the long term running cost.

The Gen2 is in brand new condition hence has zero wear & tear, but i heard proton cars have a lot of problem even when the car is brand new. The Sentra is older thus will have some wear and tear, but i heard Japanese cars are far more reliable.

I've also heard that Proton will have cheaper parts than Nissan, but Nissan parts on the other hand doesn't need that much repairing/replacing.

I drive mostly in urban areas in Penang, with occasional jams during peak hours & weekends. There may be some highway travelling in the future, but not a lot. It would be a plus if the car has low fuel consumption.

Shopping for 1st car

Hi there, I'm fresh out of college and now thinking of getting my first car. Budget is 50k max and prefers new car. Between the SagaFL and Myvi, which one would be a better buy?

I mostly drive in city areas in Penang, and getting to work everyday involves hilly slopes. Heard Myvi has better pickup and more suitable for city driving, but i like having boot space in the SagaFL.

I also heard that the SagaFL has problems with the IAFM module, keep breaking down. Some say this is under warranty so not a problem, but others say you'll still have to wait in line forever to claim the warranty as a lot of people also waiting to get their IAFM replaced. Has this IAFM problem been resolved? Does it affect only a small percentage or is it a rather common problem?

A less hassle car would be a plus. Which car gives less problem? Which SC is more hassle-free? I don't know about Perodua SC, but some of my friends said Proton SC's service teruk. Any comments on this?

Top speed is not a factor here as I seldom go over 100KM/H...

Inti Nilai - Transportation

Hi everyone, I am going to visit Inti Nilai this Sat (30th Oct), will be flying to LCCT from Penang. I have the following questions.

1) From LCCT, what is the best and cheapest way to travel to Inti Nilai?
2) From Inti Nilai, what is the best and cheapest way to travel to Nilai KTM station? (planning to go to KL city)

I read from the LCCT website that taxis from the airport to the college cost RM40 something, that's not cheap. Sure it's the easiest way (given that i do not know the area well) to reach the college, but i'm looking for cheaper alternatives if possible.

Anyone who knows, please provide me with the details, it will be really helpful.

P.S. - I'm also looking for accommodation starting Jan 2011, preferably one whole unit for rent (going to share with friend). If tak ada, 2 rooms in the same unit also fine. If can arrange for viewing this Sat morning (30th Oct), even better!

Computing related Master's Degree

I'll be getting my B.Eng in E&E soon, and thinking of going for a master's degree in a computing related field. Would it be wise to enroll in a taught M.Sc in Computing or IT or Software Engineering?

I've read about various programmes offered by various local Universities, but with my background coming from a B.Eng in E&E, will i be able to fit in? Would it be hard to keep up?

Anyone reading this have knowledge in both fields? Please advice.

Bluetooth Driver

i'm using a dell inspiron 1420 running on windows xp. In the device manager there's a problem with something called 'BCM2045', seems to be missing the driver. Looked around on the internet and can only find drivers for windows vista. Anyone has the BCM2045 bluetooth driver for winXP? thanks.

just bought a new laptop. the specs says it's running on intel GMA X3100 but when i check the system properties it says GM965.

Are GM965 and x3100 the same? or have i been cheated?

Price of used old parts

I have the following parts,
- one used 32MB TNT2 Riva PCI version graphics card
- one AMD K62 500MHz cpu with heatsink (not sure about the model)
- one Intel Pentium2 with heatsink (not sure about the speed, working condition and model, i got it from a friend, it's a slot-in type)
- one K62 motherboard (not sure about the model, doesn't have AGP slot)
- one P2 motherboard (not sure about the model and working condition, again i got it from a friend)
- one PC-100 64MB SD-Ram
- one PC-133 128MB SD-Ram

I'm thinking of selling it, maybe there's someone out there who are collecting these old parts, who knows. Anyone has any idea about how much these parts are worth. I really appreciate the help, thanks.

Dial-up problem

A friend of mine is having trouble with his dial-up connection. Everytime he tries to dial up a connection on his pc, the dialing stops after a few beeps and starts another dialing attempt. This goes on repeatedly. When he connects his laptop to the same modem, the dial-up process goes smoothly. He then tried his modem on his brother's pc and it didn't show any problems. I assume the problem is on his pc... Anyone one can help troubleshoot this problem? Thanks

I just finish my STPM, results are not out yet and i'm planning on which local private uni to go to for a Computer Engineering degree course. I need help on choosing the right uni...

Below are my main criterias:
- Employability after graduation / quality of the degree
- Living conditions (i'm looking for hostels which are affordable and offers privacy and security. I'm bringing my PC there, and placing it in a 8-person dorm is not very assuring...)
- Affordable tuition fees, preferebly within the amount of loan from PTPTN

I have two Uni's in mind currently, MMU and UTAR. Any other recommendations and advice?

Want to get a flip phone

I'm planning on gettinga new flip phone. I'm not really a phone junky, just use my phone for calling and msg-ing. I'm looking for something under RM500 which supports chinese fonts, has a camera, can add additional memory, plays MP3s, comes with bluetooth. My priority is in the music playing part. Any recommendations?

P.S. - If possible, i want one that is small and light....

I need recommendations on getting a 2.1 speaker. I'm using it mostly for gaming, and occationally for music. I already have two models for consideration, Edifier M3300 and Creative Inspire T3030. Budjet below RM250. Any comments on the two models or any other models? Thanks...
