Agong grants audience to Anwar, govt chief sect

KUALA LUMPUR (May 18): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been granted an audience with the King at the National Palace on Monday.

The government chief secretary Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar was also present at the meeting, according to a post on the Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar. The agenda of the meeting was not disclosed.

The meeting comes after Anwar said on Sunday that he is considering calling a snap election amid escalating tensions among parties in the coalition government.

The next general elections must be held by February 2028, though Anwar, who leads a coalition government led by Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, may advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to dissolve Parliament earlier.

The government may also decide to call a national election to coincide with state-level polls for Melaka and Johor, when their legislative assembles expire by February 2027.

Adding to the mix is the defections of Anwar’s once right-hand man and Pandan member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, as well as Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.

A traveler who intended to take a domestic flight within Pakistan ended up in Saudi Arabia instead, after boarding the wrong flight. There were reportedly two aircraft on the apron, and somehow he ended up on the wrong one, and the mistake wasn’t caught until well into the flight.

He ended up being interrogated in Saudi Arabia for hours, before ultimately being returned to Karachi, and being told he’d have to make his own way to Lahore, the destination he had purchased a ticket for.

United by a shared vision, the team’s goal is clear: to make The Age of Bhaarat the first title from a studio founded on the principle of "Create in India" – aiming to deliver culturally rooted AAA games developed entirely within the country.

The Age of Bhaarat has sparked mixed reactions on Reddit, where it's currently a hot topic of debate. While some users praise the game's visual appeal and ambitious scope, many remain skeptical. Critics point to "clunky" combat animations and a perceived lack of gameplay innovation. Kummute Launches Its Own E-Hailing Service Called Kumride

Kummute, previously known as Kumpool, has quietly launched its own e-hailing service called Kumride. There was no announcement from the company but according to one Reddit post, it was actually introduced a couple of months back without much fanfare, shortly after it rebranded.

If you’re not familiar with the platform, it offers Demand-Responsive Transit (DRT) services where you can hail a van within select areas for a minimal fee, but you are limited to travelling between its designated locations. This is also the case with its e-hailing service, where you can only choose select pickup and drop-off locations for distances from 3km to 7km.

Currently, Kumride operates in 10 locations, namely Petaling Jaya, Bandar Sunway, Central SUneay, KLGCC Resort, Cyberjaya, UTM & Taman Universiti, Seri Austin & Taman Daya, Food Bayana, and Bayan Lepas. Each area has its own operating hours for the service, so you are advised to check on its app before planning your commute.

I have a couple of cameras that has been sitting there, no idea what is the condition. What is the best way to deal with it?

The A55 required some fixing but Sony centre said the parts are no longer available - so I guess its a lemon unit now?

Also with an A-Mount 18-105mm lense.

PUTRAJAYA: Screen legend Tan Sri Jins Shamsuddin's sons, Hang Tuah and his third brother Jeffrey, failed in their appeal against their younger brother, Putera Hang Jebat, over an alleged falsified power of attorney (PA) used to sell 0.265 ha of their father's land in Ulu Klang worth RM2.75 million.

A three-judge panel of the Court of Appeal led by Judge Datuk P. Ravinthran along with Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah and High Court Judge Datuk Ahmad Kamal Md Shahid, unanimously rejected the appeal today.

KULAI: A father in Felda Inas is eager to let go of his much-loved BMW E39 for RM18,000 so he can raise enough funds to cover his son's medical expenses.

In a Facebook post, Erwan Shah Mohd Asen, 43, who works as a mechanic, says he is looking for serious buyers because he needs the cash immediately.

Erwan's son, Muhammad Adif Zafran, 16, is suffering from stage one intestinal cancer.

"I have had the car for almost five years but rarely used it except for long trips," he said when contacted by Harian Metro recently.

Besides paying for the medical bill and supporting his family, Erwan is also paying for their monthly house rental bill.

Erwan added that he bought the car for RM30,000 and is willing to let it go for RM18,000.

The money, he said, will help pay for his son's chemotherapy drugs, which were estimated to cost RM50,000.

"I don't know how to raise that much money, so I posted the ad on Facebook to sell the car," he said. Since the posting, Erwan said that he has received many private messages from the public.

One of the potential buyers, a Sabahan, has expressed interest in buying the car, but Erwan said the problem was that the buyer lives too far away.

Sharing his son's condition, Erwan said his eldest son had undergone chemotherapy three times and, as a result, has lost a lot of weight.

"Adif underwent chemotherapy at Ampang Hospital, and when he came back to Johor, we thought he was okay, but the doctor said the cancer cells had enlarged.

"Recently, Adif seemed to have a stroke at home, and luckily we managed to take him to the hospital," he said.

For the past two weeks, Adif has been at Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Baru. Erwan said that for now, his wife, Nur Hidayah Md Zam, 39, is looking after their son at the hospital.

Erwan said he takes care of his other children and brings them to work with him as no one is at home to care for them.

Erwan and his wife were heartbroken when they learned about their son's condition and prayed to Allah SWT for his recovery.

I went to Ambank to open, brought all documents as per their website and got rejected. Reason is they say:

"Need to check and verify your business location and address. Need proof of ownership or tenamcy agreement. Then we will have someone to go check the place physically"

FWIW, my business registration address is my family home address as its online consultancy business.

Tree fell on car

I was caught in the freak storm yesterday and a tree fell on my car as I was driving. Managed to run out of my car to safety but car was damaged and has to be towed to workshop.

Question, anyone has success claiming back damages from DBKL? Can advise how to go about it?
