Very disappointed to learn that Malaysia is not on the list of countries they're shipping to. But there's a survey. I made this thread for anyone to give away unwanted codes or offers. These are the Xbox GPU codes that you get from buying hardware and from random places. I can never seem to use them because they only apply to new sign ups and accounts. I don't think there's anything stopping whoever gets this code from using a throwaway account.

Strength training for athletic performance

I've read through most of the stickies and most of it appears to be focused mostly on looking good and bodybuilding and very little for improving athletic performance, so i was just wondering if there was anyone in here with that type of specific experience.

A bit about myself:

Age:43 (so masters/veteran category?)
H:182cm
W:93kg

yeah so I'm on the wrong end of the BMI scale... My current workout regime involves:

Swimming: Mon, Wed, Fri (currently about 50mins swimming about 1700m)
Weights: Tue, Thu, Sunday (mornings)
Running: Tue, Thu, Saturday (Doing a couch to 5k programme and running 28mins without stopping atm, mostly evening except saturday)-also committed to a 10k run in 2 months)

My main objectives right now are increasing my endurance base and developing a stronger core/muscles that will help with running and swimming. I've been doing this for about 2.5 months now and trying to improve the type of training i do in the gym because mostly i was just doing random exercises without a real aim/purpose. Then about 3 weeks ago someone at the gym asked me to try doing some compound exercises and thats when I stumbled onto the starting strength stuff as in the stickies above.

I think, I should be past the adaptation stage of learning proper form for the noob strength exercises, (A: squats, Bench Press, Deadlift; B: squats, overhead press, rows - all 3x5 except for deadlift 1x5).

So the questions are:

1. Am i trying to do too much? Should i cut down on gym days?
2. How heavy should i be lifting?
3. Should i get a personal trainer if i don't have a training partner, if yes, then what type of trainer? (the stickies are great but they're not very helpful in assessing my form and i really want to avoid getting any serious injuries)

So.. just looking at the SG xbox.com site and noticed that they have details on the One X - SGD699 available late 2017.

I don't game much these days and my xbox is mostly a Netflix/amazon prime/plex machine but i'm intrigued by the consumer 4k/HDR experience..

Anyone else getting at launch?

Windows 10 Game streaming

Ok. I got windows 10. Nice OS , fast snappy and new and interesting ways to connect with xbox1.

So I tried streaming batman: arkham knight to my windows 10 intel i7-4500u cpu. My first impressions is that it doesn't really run that well. first time couldn't really connect, 2nd time connected, got really bad artifacts and video got choppy - and disconnected.

The xbox1 and ultrabook are both connected via Wi-Fi to an asus rt-n15 so not exactly the POS isp router. Just wondering if anyone has managed to get it working flawlessly?

The other thing I don't like is that while I can connect my xbox1 controller to the laptop with a micro usb cable, I need to manually resync it back to the xbox once its disconnected. Maybe it's an excuse to get the elite controller when it comes out...

Virus on ipad?

Is it possible to get a virus on ipad? I'm browsing on safari and currently i'm getting spammed by a pop up for ilovemobi.com which looks like a scam to me. The worst thing is that it cant be closed. Anyone else experiencing this?

Setting up VPN on a second router

Problem details
OK here goes, not sure if this sub forum is the right place for this query but I would basically like to set up a VPN so I can access stuff like Netflix/hulu via my appletv or xbox one on my 2nd router.

I think what people normally do is that they usually share internet through a laptop that's plugged in using an Ethernet cable. However, I cannot do so as I do not have a functioning desktop currently and all the laptops in my house currently do not have a LAN port seeing as they are all ultrabooks.

SO i thought it would be a relatively straight forward affair to just connect router 1 (the asus) using pppoe to the modem, and connecting router 2 (WAN port) to router 1(LAN Port) and entering my VPN login details via pptp in the WAN settings. However, I seem to have problems connecting to the VPN servers

Since I have clearly failed at googling, can anyone help me set up a VPN on a 2nd router, point me in the right direction for how to do so or possibly give me another way I can use my VPN to watch Netflix.

I love Indian food and I'm trying to learn to create Indian Food that's authentic from scratch. Unfortunately, most of the recipes I've tried seem westernised and it's also hard to get a good feel of the spices and the cooking styles by looking at a cook book. I would appreciate any wisdom/recommendations or any one willing to give classes for 1 or 2 months in the PJ/SJ/Puchong area

And be sure to stop by the Xbox booth at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle this weekend as Microsoft Studios will be giving attendees a sneak peek at some of the Windows 8 titles announced today.

It's a new platform, it's an old platform. All we know that come October, windows 8 will be launching. It'll be launching with games - some old, some new. It's not GFWL but it'll be a fully integrated platform on windows. Gamertags, etc. Heck you can even reserve a Malaysian gamertag @ http://live.xbox.com/ms-MY/Home now if you really want.

To be fair, i think many of us have already played these games on iOS or android or even windows phone. So.. It's a built in app store, where you can hopefully get cheap games. There's also going to be genuine cross platform gameplay for example in Wordament (which is really awesome on the phone) or this:

There's absolutely no reason for the games above to be available on steam, which is probably lord gaben hates what MS is doing with windows 8.

I'm not going to be speculating on how successful Windows 8 is going to be and that's not really the point of this post. The point is, there will be games on windows 8. Some of them will be good. Some not so good.

It started out as an 8-bit homage to GTAIII called grand thefttendo, but the project slowly grew to become the 8-bit temple that it is today. It's been in development for quite a while and has had quite substantial coverage in the gaming press and it has won a few indie awards so it's worth keeping an eye on.
