Hello everyone,
Has anyone had any experience working with reclaimed or old wood for renovations? Like old pieces of wood for shelves and cabinet carcasses? Or old wooden flooring that is reclaimed? Or old wooden doors, solid as well as wood-framed glass? Anyone know where to get such old wood or know any contractor that uses such material?

I've read about kitchen cabinets made out of bamboo in foreign interior design magazines. I can't seem to find anyone in Malaysia offering this. Does anyone know anything about using bamboo for cabinets here, any experience with it?

Stack vent

Hi everyone,
Need help with something called a "stack vent" or "stack vent pipe". In my 20-year-old, single-storey terrace house, it's a big ass pipe that comes up from the bathroom floor and goes up into the roof. I'm redoing the bathroom and the (young!) contractor says I don't need that pipe, it's old fashioned, we can get rid of it. But Google seems to say it's important! For venting gasses from the connected sewage system, as far as I can gather. Any experts who can advice me, please?

Oven with drop down door

Hello kind people,
Does anyone know where to get either
1) a built in oven that has a drop down door or
2) a built in oven with a side opening door?
I have a family member who has difficulty reaching past the open oven door and into the oven body to remove the dish.

Google led me to the wonderful idea of an oven with a "slide away" door by Neff (here's a video youtube.com/watch?v=zkJNDaTVEdM ) but the brand itself seems to get pretty bad reviews. And I can't find it in Malaysia anyway.

The Internet just confused me thoroughly so I'm hoping someone here knows something and can help with suggestions?

Hello forumers,
Has anyone heard of a combination hob that has gas burners as well as an induction area? Gaggenau (attached image of the Gaggenau Vario range) and Siemens have such a range but they cost SOOOOOO much! Any cheaper options out there?
