Is it time to resign and move on?

Background story:

Just finished 1 year at a certain company (fresh grad). However performance review is very bad and was placed on performance improvement plan (PIP), despite not having any attitude problems and disciplinary issues.

Question:
1. Is PIP an indicator that I should resign and move on to another job? I have crawled through internet and unfortunately most of the answer is a 'yes', but I would like to hear more from yall.

2. Is bad performance in the first year of work a warning sign that someone shouldn't stay in the company for long (ie: This job is not meant for you)?

3. My manager said "Don't worry, you will definitely pass this plan". Should I believe his words and this is just utter bullshit?

4. How should I be mentally prepared when future employers asked "why you leave your last job"?

Laptop CPU throttles

Hi all, need your help.

Here are the specs of my laptop:

HP envy 13
Processor: Intel i7-10510u 1.8GHz, max 4.8GHz
512GB SSD, 16GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce MX250 2GB GDDR5 VRAM

I noticed that my laptop CPU only runs at 400MHz while playing games, which is a pain in the neck because it will cause lags and stutters while gaming. Once I quit the game, the clock frequency didn't increase back to the normal parameters (~1.2-1.4GHz) so surfing the net or doing other routine stuffs can be painful to me as well. This continues until I restart my comp.

I only noticed this issue when I started playing Genshin Impact which is 3 months ago. Previously I don't have any issues running any games as my specs are good enough to run any games smoothly (not at high quality though). But it is quite frustrating when the games keeps lagging even if it's already met minimum requirements to run them.

Currently I suspect thermal paste on CPU dried out or CPU fan might have problem. If you have any suggestions improving this situation please reply. Thanks

Delay of an university admission interview

I have a big problem here.
It's so unfortunate that I had caught a contagious illness and had to be quarantined for some time.

Is it possible to delay the interview for UM or other Malaysian public universities by personally informing the person in charge?

Has anyone experienced this before? I need some assistances from you all.

I am taking IELTS this July.

I need help from those who had taken/scored IELTS.

So I will keep this short and simple:

1. Is there any changes in the format or marking method in IELTS?

2. Any tips to score in Speaking and Listening paper?

3. Is speaking test and writing tests are done separately? Usually it's before or after the writing tests?

4. Is IELTS harder than MUET?

5. For the first part in academic writing section, do we need to state the facts only or we need to add our own reasons as well?

Replacement iPad

My iPad is broken, and the technician at MacCity said that the hardware failure is beyond repair.
Actually, the problem started since I got it on the first day.
If it is still under warranty, is it possible to get a brand new replacement from mac city?

I planned to study engineering courses in Japan after taking STPM.

Before that, can anyone tell me:

Any pre-requisites required? (Like taking entrance exams, learning japanese language)

Do I need to apply any entrance visa?

The approximate costs (Tuition fees+ living expenses)

Student's Life in Japan

Anything needs to be taken note of (like girls must take care of their appearance when living in Japan)

Is it recommended to take part-time jobs?

Printer is unable to print

If this is posted in wrong sections please help to move it,

I needed to get my printing job done, however the printer said that the ink is running low and prompt me to press 'stop/reset' button for 5 seconds, after I followed the prompt, the printer stops printing and show code :"05" on the LED panel. I tried many ways which involves reinsert the cartridge, restart the printer, and even getting into service mode but no avail.

I can't get into the service mode of the printer. When I press and hold 'reset' and power button, then release the reset button and press 2 times, it supposed to show '0' on the LED panel, but it does not, but the alarm light keeps blinking. Even tried to rest the printer by pulling off all the connections for 20 minutes but the same thing keeps happening. After restarting, the printer still showing me Error 05 and stopped me from the printing job.

I am really at my wits' end now, so any help which can 'revive' my printer back is much appreciated.

STPM 2014/2015

Well, I shall re-open a new thread special for STPM students for year 2014/2015!

As I am just starting a new school life in Form 6 this year, so I can't share any of my experience regarding form 6!

Form 6 is gonna be tough and challenging, so this may be the biggest challenges I face in my whole life!

To survive (and score) in this one and a half year, therefore I need some advises and experiences regarding this.

Anyone who are studying in Form 6 right now, or those STPM graduates can give some two cents here! Any helpful comments are welcomed!

Form 6 2014

Hi, I am new to this forum and im glad to be one of the big family here.

I scored 8A+ and 2A in SPM. HOWEVER, I don't even get a single offer from the government. Neither Matriks (even 2nd batch) nor JPA scholarship. JPA had ended my dream of studying in Japan. When I got the news, I felt like thousand needles piercing my chest and I cried.

I have no choice but to take on form 6, because i still can hold on to my dreams

I know form 6 is gonna be tough for me, as I can feel it after a few weeks of learning. I know that I have to change my character and my attitude in studying. I slept 5 hours a day and studied 6 hours everyday but I am still feeling like I'm slacking

So can anybody experienced here can tell me how to manage my time and any studying tips or recommended reference books for form 6?I am opening a new thread because I know there is a post discussing about this but there is so many pages until my eyes got this $$

Should I take MUET this November as a private candidate? My school teacher recommended us to take on March next year.

Any replies or help is appreciated.
