Cryptocurrency 101

I started trading cryptocurrency back in June 2017. Been through the whole Alts Winter, China Banning Exchanges, ETH/BCASH Flippening etc etc. Now that I somehow manage to survive the whole drama, is time for me to give back to the community. Since the scene is still pretty new and we're in early adoption of cryptocurrency globally, there's a few FAQ that I would like to clarify for the newbies.

A short introduction of myself.

- My portfolio was down 90% back in November. (YES. I Mean It. and by 90% I mean in BTC value not FIAT. Only noob keep bragging about their FIAT Gain)

- When I first discover bitcoin my sole purpose was to make quick and easy money. (Which is still pretty doable if you know what's going on)

- The first alts (or like I always called it, SHITCOINS) I bought is $DGB (Digibyte). I bought it solely because one of the guru said so. (Which it did go up and net my around 50% gains)

- My greed takeover and I failed to sell it at the top. (Which you should be able to see what happen next. A full retrace!)

- I sold the bottom and got out at a loss of -30%.

- Bought NXT (NEXT) around end of June. Again, sold at a loss. (-50% down in total)

- Dump in extra BTC and try to regain my loss.

- Joined a paid group (0.2 BTC lifetime), earn back a few 10 - 20% here and there. Still clueless on what I'm doing.

- Went all in $BTS and buy every single DIP till the sudden delisting on Bittrex.

- Depress and in dire situation. Left with only 10% of my capital.

- Started to study and learn about the market. Discover Ryan Pumper's blog and starting to follow the right people on Twitter.

- Finally, regain all of my BTC loss as of today.

If you're in any of stage above, well, don't worry, atleast alts season incoming and you definitely have a better chance to recover your loss than me back then. Without further ado, here's some FAQ that might come in handy to you

Q. Now that I bought my first bitcoin, how can I increase it without buying more?
A. 3 days. By mining, trading on exchanges and participate in ICO.

Q. Is buying mining rig the only way to mine more bitcoin
A. Yes and No. First and foremost, you must understand why there's this whole "MINING" thing exist. In short, it's a way for blockchain to confirm the transaction of cryptocurrency between user. There's 2 ways to CONFIRM(MINING) the transaction. Proof of Work (POW) and Proof of Stake(POS). Proof of Work is one mining process where it requires higher spec and power to confirm a transaction (which is the mining rig). Where Proof of Stake is another mining method where you can easily mine with just a VPS and Official Software Wallet. At the moment, Bitcoin is mineable only through POW. But, you can also mine other cryptocurrency and sell them on major exchange for Bitcoin.

Q. I'm interested in trading alts. Where should I get started?
A. Start by register an account on either Bittrex/Binance/Crytopia.

Q. On what platform of social media is cryptocurrency most active in?
A. Twitter. You should get a twitter account. Though you should know who to follow and who not to. (Forget McAfee)

Q. Bitcoin is dipping now!! What should I do??
A. It's a world-renowned highly volatile market. What more it's a speculative asset and thus, any negative news will certainly impact the price fluctuation together with all the panic selling of not-so-confident-bitcoin holder.

Q. Basic strategy of bitcoin?
A. Buy and hold. Buy when everyone is selling and sell when everyone is buying. This reverse logic works wonder in crypto. Also a famous quote by Baron Rothschild. "Buy when there's blood in the streets". Again, bitcoin is a speculative asset. You're buying into a financial revolution. Go and read on blockchain technology. Google about the upcoming lighting network application. Checkout Bitcoin Block Reward Halving. Of 21 Million of Supply only 4.4 million worth of bitcoin left.

Hi Guys/Girls,

I was thinking to change my old Nissan Sentra (10 years+) for a used car. Due to my budget limitation I'm stumbling and indecisive which car should i choose from.

A) Honda Civic I-VTEC 1.8 2009 Full Mugen Bodykit (67,500MYR)
B) Toyota Vios 2009 ~ 2011 1.5 TRD ( I'm not sure about the price but i think its around 50 ~ 60k+)

I know it shouldn't be compare this way but then this is the only 2 car i would consider to change.

Any comments from anyone of you who currently or previously drove those 2 mentioned car above? Apart from the fuel consumption ( Which I don't think it's huge blow as it is claimable and not much far distant travel) , which one would you choose.

Hi Guys/Girls. First and Foremost I Thank You for willingly spend some of your precious time checking out this thread. My purposes to start a thread is to raise concern of public towards young investor (like me) and many more out there that wishing to invest some of their hard earn money but do not know where to start.

After the incident of " Future Richest Man " and all the on-going Pyramid Scheme, I find out that the knowledge of investment is kinda poor among the young one. Everyone knows that by SAVING only is not enough to prepare us for the appreciate value of House overtime. Thus I start to look into where to invest my small portion of extra savings to slowly buildup my portfolio.

Googling on the web sure there's some results shows up ( Stocks, REITs, Mutual Fund, ETF ). And then here comes another problem again. The required capital to start investing is way what we can afford. I approach a Broker Agent and the required capital to start is atleast 5k.

My question is:

1] Is it a must to have atleast 5k to actually start investing? I understand that every transaction made there's fee apply. Is there any platform for people to invest with smaller amount of capital?

2] I came across with 1 website known as sharebuilder and in it they offer some interesting way to build up your portfolio. Anyone experienced it please share some of your precious review below.

3] Suggestion to newbie investor to learn before they first invest? We all know we are in this internet era and there's too many available knowledge online and offline. Thus filtering is very important. Any suggestion from you?
