General description "Heartwood ranges from light brown to dark red . It can be clearly differentiated from the sapwood which is
yellowish white in colour. Acacia mangium's grain is commonly interlocked , its texture is moderately fine and uniform. "
Principal Users "Furniture, timber flooring , tunery . It is also suitable for particleboard , plywood, veneer , fence post,
firewood , and charcoal . "

General description "Sapwood is well defined and yellow in colour . Heartwood is brick-red streaked with yellow-brown lines ,
weathering to an orange-red colour . Surface is moderately lustrous , and ripple marks are mostly present.
The grain is interlocked giving rise to faint stripe figure . The tecture is coarse and even.
Principal Users "Kempas is suitable for all heavy construction , railway sleepes , telegraph and power line poles, fence posts, etc.
The untreated timber is suitable for all structures under cover , including posts, beams, joists, rafters, etc.
It is a very attractive timber for timber flooring . It make good walking sticks and is favourite wood for charcoal manufacturer.

Strength Heavy hardwood
General description "Sapwood is well defined and white in colour . Heartwood is gold-brown or red-brown , weathering to dark brown . Surface is lustrous . The grain is interlocked , giving rise to attractive stripe figure and the texture
is moderately coarse and even . Ripple marks are prominent. "
Principal Users "Heavy construction , gymnasium equipment , decorative panneling, timber flooring , heavy-duty flooring ,
handles for hammers, axes and changkols, carpentar's tool handles, mallets, shoulder poles , walking sticksoil presses cog wheels, cartaxles, wheel hubs etc. It is favourite timber for sledges used in extraction of logs in forest and for joiner's wood planes."
