Bank Account Thailand/Malaysia?

Hi All,

Tried searching through couple of pages and keyword, doesn't seem to have an answer to my question.

Assuming I have large amount of Thai Baht (say inheritance), how do I bring over legally without going through Bank due to low exchange rate? (Airport has limit carrying Cash)

Planning to open a FD with the amount but I believe it will get flagged by BNM anyway?

A friend suggested to open HSBC account then consult their advice how to get it transfer over to Malaysia. << not sure about this part thus opening thread here.

(Not trolling, planning steps ahead before actually having the amount of money in hand)

Just wondering if any of you guys experience this before and can share.

1) I'm planning to bring car muffer which cost about 6000baht from Thailand to Malaysia via Flight (Hand carry/luggage checkin)
2) Malaysia tax is 25% for car parts + 6% gst which I already know.

My question is, once I arrive in KLIA and proceed to pass custom, if they Tahan me, I will need to pay on the spot for them to let me pass right? or do they confiscate my item?
