Hi guys I am planning to purchase a mini laptop. I need Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to run smoothly. Also I plan to play some FIFA on it. Preferably I would like the laptop to be light and not so big screen size.

What will you guys recommend on the screen size? I see some mini laptops at 11.6". Is that too small for photoshop, illustrator and FIFA?

weight: 1.5kg - 2kg
Budget: 2K - 3K

Thanks!!

EPF / SOCSO for a new company

Hi guys,

Me and a friend are looking to open a restaurant. I was wondering if anyone has experience on how to go about EPF / SOCSO when opening a new F&B business? Where do I start? I have done a lil research via the EPF and SOCSO website but I am still not sure about certain things. I have listed the things below that I already know and I have a list of questions below that I do not know as well. Or if any of you have some website links that explains how to open EPF / SOCSO account in a new business, please post it. I tried searching on google but havent found anything yet.

I am looking to hire a local manager to run the restaurant and I hope to hire local waiters / waitresses as well hence I need to register my staff for EPF / SOCSO. Hope to receive your inputs. thanks & cheers

Things that I dont know:

1. Can I register a new staff online? From what I read on the EPF website, apparently I can. But I would just like a confirmation.
2. How about a staff who already has an EPF and SOCSO account? can I register them online too once they join my company?
3. As many may know, F&B has high turnover. Does this mean that I have to keep registering my staff when they join me? Is there an easier approach to dealing with this?
4. What happens when a staff leaves my company? Do I have to go to the EPF office and un-register them or can I do it online? or will the system read that if the staff wasnt paid any EPF / SOCSO in the next month, he / she has left?
5. When I register my company with EPF and SOCSO, is there any monthly or annual service fee that I need to pay to these organisations? Or are there any hidden / extra costs involved that I may not be aware about?
6. Once I have registered my company with EPF, does this mean I then transfer the sum payable for my staff EPF to my EPF business acount? How does the system work? Does it mean I pay for the EPF and SOCSO first and then I deduct it from my staff salary?
7. What if after 2 years, I decide I dont want to pay EPF for myself and my staff, is this possible?

Things that I know:

Registration of Employers

- According to Section 41 (1) of the EPF Act 1991, an employer must register with the EPF within 7 days from the date the employer becomes liable to contribute, that is as soon as an employee is hired.

- Employer is required to complete Form KWSP 1 and to submit together with the registration form issued by the approving authorities such as Form 49 issued by the Companies Commission or the Business Registration Certificate.

- Upon registration, we will obtain:
Employer's Reference Number - This number must be used in all dealings with the EPF
The following documents:
Form KWSP 6 (Form A) - to pay the monthly contributions
Form KWSP 3 - to register employees as members
Form KWSP 4 - Nomination form
Employer's Registration Certificate - this certificate is to be exhibited at the employer's premise

Registration of employees

- For employees who receive wages/salary of RM5,000 and below, the portion of employee's contribution is 11% of their monthly salary while the employer contributes 13%. For employees who receive wages/salary exceeding RM5,000 the employee's contribution of 11% remains, while the employer's contribution is 12%.

- Ways an unregistered employee can register for EPF

1. They can complete Form KWSP 3 with their details and hand over at any EPF counter or by mail.

2. Registration via MyKad (without Form KWSP 3) at the counter. The employee must present his/her MyKad at the counter whereupon his/her personal particulars will be extracted from the MyKad chip. The information will be automatically saved in the EPF system without the need for the counter personnel to key in the information.

3. Registration via Monthly Contribution Form (Form A) without using Form KWSP . The employer must state the correct name and identity card number in the contribution form (Form A) at the time of payment of contribution. The member will be registered ‘automatically' with the EPF if the particulars furnished in Form A are complete. This method of registration is applicable only to employees who are citizens or permanent residents of Malaysia and who hold the 7- or 12-digit identity cards only.
Hi guys,

I am looking to purchase robot toys for my nephew. Recently he got this fascination of robot toys. I tried searching in toy shops and places like Toys "R" Us but they only have modern robots such as transformers lol. My nephew is only 2 years old so the toy doesn't have to be of high quality or expensive. I have attached some pics below. A simple robot like the pics I have provided below are sufficient. Anyone knows where I can find these in KL??

Need your advice on laptop for Adobe Illustrator

Hi peeps,

Here is the story. I bought my mom a laptop a couple of weeks back for her personal use but now she is saying she doesn't need it anymore. I have no problems using this laptop but I have installed illustrator and photoshop and so far it isn't running smoothly. This is simply because I bought my mom a very basic laptop but I need these 2 apps to work smoothly. The specs are below. Is there any way I can improve the performance of the adobe illustrator and photoshop in this laptop? I am open to suggestions. I definitely don't want to buy a new laptop. or perhaps I can upgrade this laptop a lil to enhance the performance? I am not sure if I am able to upgrade with this laptop tho. Appreciate you guys feedback on this. cheers

Specs:
Acer Aspire E 11 (E3-112M-C6BV)
11.6" HD (1366 x 768) 16:9
Intel Celeron N2840 Dual-core 2.16 GHz
2 GB, DDR3L SDRAM
