Unifi Slow Download Speed and Spikes

Hi All,

Recently my Unifi has been very slow at loading webpages (about 5-10 seconds of load time) and also frequent spikes in ping (up to 1000ms) in game. I am subscribing to a 100Mbps plan with Unifi and using their TPLINK Archer C1200 router.

So, I have made a complain report to Unifi on this issue and they sent a technician over.

1st Site visit:
- Checked my router and said it is IPV6 setting issue. Disabled it then should be no problem.
- I stopped him from closing report as it's funny how he can "solve" it in 10 seconds.
- So he tested again and said it is my router issue and that I should get a brand new router from TM by renewing my contract, or buying my own router outside.
- I requested him to swap my router with a spare one (also TPLINK Archer C1200) and it seems better at first.
- Then he left while maintaining the report status for me to observe the speed for another day.
- Few hours after he left the lag and the spike is back. So I requested another support visit.

2nd Site visit
- He checked the fibre optics and said no issue.
- He checked modem and said no issue.
- He checked on their side and said no issue.
- On speedtest it shows 100Mbps when he's here.
- Then he concluded it is router again and gave me three options
-- (1) Renew contract with Unifi and get their router for free
-- (2) Buy a new router outside by myself
-- (3) Buy a router from the technician himself
- But even with this, he could not prove to me that the router was the issue.
- And I also found out that the site visit will cost me RM53..

In the end, I am still confused as to what should I do.
a) Go with options 1, 2 or 3, or are there other options I can look at?
b) Am I supposed to pay RM53? I thought that they are required to fix it! I am paying for 100Mbps lol.

Kindly advise if you have an experience with this. Appreciate it and thanks.

I'm a university student and is currently looking for a laptop. I need some suggestions please! Here are the requirements!

- lightweight ( <2kg if possible) >2.5kg is a no no because it'll be difficult to carry it around.
- good battery life (probably 5 hours of battery life with average web browsing and some light gaming)
- it will be good if I can play Dota2, HoN, Left4Dead without any lag on average settings..
- can last for at least 4 years
