Electrical bill jumped up from average 200 to 500

Hi guys, my bill's average around certain month from RM150-RM250 normally. I got my March bill and it cost me RM515 which the month before was just RM150. The only changes I made in the past 1 month was I installed a Panasonic Inverter 1 housepower aircon for a small room which I switch on around 8-12 hours dailly at temperate range from 24-26 celcius with all auto setting in Econavi.

I suspect there is a electrical meter failure but after 2 inspection by TNB they each wrote that my basic current/penggunaan semasa is high. First visit wrote 3.8 amp second wrote 3.52 amp the day after that (I was not at home and the aircon is not switch on) The TNB men said that there is nothing wrong with my meter, I asked for a replacement and he said my meter measurement is older type which actually is slower. If i change to a new one there should be around 10% increase in my bill. He said I will rugi if I change.

My inverter does not come with a power button to switch off. I only have the remote to switch on and off. Both the serviceman that install and the seller told me that it just run on very low battery. Meanwhile the TNB person told me that if I dont have a switch on/off button on the wall it will be on standby and use a lot of electricity.

The seller told me that with Panasonic Inverter 1hp it only would cost me RM30 for a month with 8 hours operation. If my next month bill is another RM500 from the usual RM200 I might have no other choice but to remove it completely as I am unsure what is happening. Please advise if anyone have any suggestion. I am desperate.
