question about company confirmation.

hi. i need your help and guidance.

a friend of mine work in this IT company for 9 months. as per his employment letter, the first 3 months of the employment will constitute a probationary period and he's been working for 9 months and he did not received any confirmation about his employment verbally or written. now he wants to resign with 24 hours notice, and on the employment letter said that once you are confirmed employee, you are required to provide the company 2 months notice. but now he is confused whether he is consider confirmed or not? because all the other confirm employee indeed got a confirmation letter while he is not. this company doesn't have HR, all direct to board of directors.

it is also hard because in the employment letter, doesn't mention benefits of working there, like it's only written that it will be said during orientation etc. all been done verbally and he forgot most of it already.

thank you
