Moving from IT industry to Academia

I have been working for many years in the IT industry and have spent my career in large MNCs and startups, spanning roles in Software Development, Enterprise Apps implementation, Product strategy & development, Marketing & Management roles.

I plan to take my Master in Information Systems at a local uni in early 2023 and transition into a 2nd career in academia after that. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and hope to be able to encourage more young adults to take up varied careers in the IT industry. Background - I am joining the Master’s program via the MQA APEL A T7 route, if that makes a difference to your answers.

Questions for those working in Academia …
- Do universities view those coming from the industry favourably ? How easy/difficult would it be to get a job ? Esp in the area of IS
- Any views on making the transition, challenges, gotchas ? Esp if you / someone you know has made a similar transition
- Any advantage of getting the Master’s from a reputable local private uni vs a AUS uni based in MY ? The AUS uni cost 3x more I plan to teach in private unis in the near future and am wondering if this makes a difference.
- How much of age discrimination exists in academia ? I am obviously on the “wiser” side category
- Any other relevant insights welcomed too

Inti Subang+Swinburne Business Information Systems

Hi

Like to find out if anyone is currently taking or completed the Inti + Swinburne Bachelor of Business Information Systems ?
https://newinti.edu.my/programme/30-bachelo...logy-australia/

Like to find out ...
- How is the quality of lecturers teaching this course at Inti Subang ?
- Read some negative feedback online about Inti management. Did this impact your studies at Inti ?
- Do you get many internship opportunities during this 3 year program ?
- If you took the transfer to Swinburne Melbourne option (2+1), was the transition easy ? Did the 2 years at Inti help when you were at Swinburne in Melbourne ? Or was there a big gap in what was taught at Inti Subang vs Swinburne Melbourne?

Appreciate any other relevant feedback.
Leak inside walls

Need advice on what to do next. See layout below.

I have been washing my condo balcony with a high pressure water jet about 4-5 times over the last 12 months. The water jet was connected to the balcony tap. About 3 months ago I discovered water marks in the dining hall lower wall (2 arrows pointing). I suspect the high water pressure has caused the pipe to spring a leak. The orange strip represents where the piping runs inside the wall.

I got my plumber to hack the wall where the water marks appeared from both sides of the wall - the dining hall wall & the bathroom wall in our search for the leak. He did not hack the entire length of the orange strip but just the section where the water mark on the wall appeared (the XXXXX in the diagram). There was a blue pipe inside the wall for cold water and a thicker white pipe for hot water. We could not see any pipe leaking but the cement surrounding the pipes were damp.

The orange strip representing the pipe is at the lower part of the wall and the main pipe coming into the bathroom comes thru the plaster ceiling above the bathroom sink.

What do I do next ? In sequence ...

1) hack external balcony wall along orange strip (above XXXXX) to see if leak is coming from there?
2) hack internal dining wall along orange strip (below XXXXX) and under sink to see if leak is coming from there ?
3) hack all my bathroom tiles and change all the pipes to find the source of the leak ? Could be shower or bath tub pipes which are only accessible from the bathroom once all the tiles are hacked off. Expensive !

Appreciate all the sifu advise.
