Hello! Long time lurker of lowyat forum here! I am currently trying to acquire a business to run as a side hustle as I have recently moved into a more relaxed job and have some spare time. Fully aware that the entrepreneurship journey would require lots of hardwork and overcoming hurdles, but it has always been what I wanted to do, and thought it would be a good compromise to run it on the side while I have the safety of a main income (but still have the flexibility & mind space/energy to work on the side).

I have past experience in management consulting + logistics sector, but I am industry-agnostic (open to any industry), and generally able to learn fast and adapt. I am looking for businesses that have demonstrated consistent profitability (declining profits are fine). Please do PM me if you have any such business/ leads, would greatly appreciate it!

TV + Soundbar recommendation

Just recently moved back home. Looking to buy a TV for my room. Viewing distance should be around 3.5m (11.5 feet). Light usage of just Netflix + Nintendo Switch. Convenience should be top priority.

Currently looking at Panasonic TH-65GX800K ($5.7k) + Yamaha Yas 209 sound bar ($1.6k). Was wondering what is the ideal setup with a budget is ideally lower than $7.5k (the lower the better if tradeoff isn't too bad).

Few factors to look into:
1) TV model - (Is Panasonic GX800 the best value for money in that range)
2) TV size - (do I need a 65" at this distance & is the additional price worth it)
3) Soundbar model

Haven't really been too into techy stuff so don't have too much understanding (eg. HDR10+ vs Dolby vision etc etc.) so any insights would be appreciated. Thank you in advanced!

What are you looking for in a job?

First things first, I'm halfway through my A levels, and university application is coming up real soon. I'm privileged enough to obtain a scholarship to study any course of my choice (which is a part of the problem).

I have not made up my mind on what to study, which most probably will decide what job I'll be doing in the future (Not always true i know, but still.) Just wanna ask, what made you guys do what you are doing? Did you forgo your passion (in which you might probably end up jobless) for something that earns more? 20/30 years down the road did you regret what you've chosen?

I'm constantly reminded about the crude reality where I'll need to provide for my future wife and kids and choosing a "safe and stable" job is the best way to go. What say you? Is the ultimate goal earning big bucks?
