I am volunteering in Hulu Langat to help rebuild - https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...t-after-floods/ Please read this story linked, as it might give you an idea of why there is or is not any official help, and also explains the context of the volunteer work.

The place unfortunately has no electricity supply, so I am in need to borrow a working genset of about 1.2 kVA or above. But not too big also, as it must be manually moved. This should give me enough power to run my grinders, circ + sabre saws, roto hammers, hackers, and to charge the batteries for my cordless stuff. (of course not all tools together at once!) There are ICE chainsaws to clear the wood stuff, but the metal and stone debris has to be dealt with also. I can't justify getting a genset for 2 weeks, even though they are not so expensive now.

They had 3 gensets, but unfortunately the floods got them. I tried servicing them to see if they are salvageable, but there is fine mud everywhere... in the crank case, cylinder, electricals, carb, everywhere, and the rotor and stator have rusted together due to them being mild steel laminations. No luck there.

So if there is a kind soul willing to lend me a genset.... KL, PJ, Shah Alam, Klang, Hulu Langat, Semenyih, etc, and surrounding areas, I can pick up and return to you. I am careful with tools, and I do use them to their full potential, but sometimes more. Your genset will be stress tested in this project. The location is an ex- flood area, so also don't expect your genset to come back in pristine condition. Don't offer if your genset is under par, or needs servicing, or is giving trouble. Sorry to be blunt, but I want the work to be done, not worry about the genset performance/reliability. Also be warned that the genset may come back dead, although I'll try my level best to prevent that.

Again, do not offer your genset if you are particular about any of this.

So, with all that said, PM me if you want to make arrangements for the loan of your genny. There's a bank account in the story linked above, I'm sure En Salehin won't mind a few bucks banked into his account. His doges will thank you too!

What can I do with an iPad2 iOS 9.3.5

A friend of mine gave me his old iPad2. I thought I could read ebooks with it, but every app seems like it cannot be installed as the store says iOS 9.3.5 is too old. I can watch YouTube with it from Safari, but the speakers are crackling so I have to use headphones. But then I don't see the value of a small screen when I have YT on the big TV.

I put it on Mudah for RM 250, but no one is interested so far. Seems like such a waste to just send it to the recycling center. So, seriously, what do you all advise?

Apologies is this is the wrong place, but I am looking for a removal service, so....

I have contact with a distributor, with a warehouse, that is going to downsize and move. All movable items like office furniture, racks, machines, lockers, furniture, warehouse racks, etc must be gotten rid off. Please PM me if you are able to provide this service.

Are telcos overcharging with data roaming promos?

I have read a few threads now of how someone is travelling, and when they get their bill, there is a daily data roaming charge of RM XX according to the telco's data roaming promotion. This poll is not if the subscriber actually used the data or not.

I have to give you an example : If someone used 100kB of data which would normally cost RM 12.80, do you consider it overcharging if the telco uses the promotion rate of RM 38 per day for data roaming? For the telco, they have published their T&C of the promotion, so you do know what you are getting into when you use any data while roaming. What do you think?

Full disclosure : I have been charged full amount for supposedly using 116 kB in Hong Kong airport (which has free WiFi) and am wondering if I am over-reacting to the charge
