29 June
Looking at the good feedback of customers of Limrolando, I contacted him via PM and got a quote for 3 rooms in Grand Diamond Suites Hotel, Bangkok for 3 nights which costs (RM165 per room per night x 3 rooms x 3 nights = RM1485).

30 June
Full payment RM1485 was transferred as requested to Maybank AC: 151306879808 (Robert Low Heng Thai) at 30 Jun 2013 22:13:58

1 July
All communication with him below is in Whatsapp (+66920608900).
Limrolando confirmed payment received, I was told the booking voucher will be sent to my email at 8 July.

8 - 10 July
Limrolando replied that the server is having problem and he can't send the voucher to me. I asked for a screenshot of the booking details for me to confirm with the hotel but he refused, stating that he cannot disclose the booking agent to me. I asked for the booking number and he asked me to wait while he fix everything for me. This goes on for a few days where the "server" is still having problem. He last replied that he will send the voucher to me by 11 July.

11 July
Reminded him via to send me the voucher at morning, till end of day still no reply.Whatsapp message status shows that my message has been delivered to his phone (2 ticks). Tried calling his phone number but his phone is turned off.

My vacation date starts at 20 July and now I am unable to confirm a hotel to stay during my travel

USB Flash Drive not detected

I got an Imation Nano 4GB USB Flash drive which works fine when I plug it into a PC. In the next minute, I plug it into another PC and it fails to detect it so I just left it in, thought restarting the PC will do, but it also fails to detect it. The flash drive just feels hot after I pull it out.

I have tested on a few PC and same result, not detected, even the safety remove icon does not appear.

I do not have any receipt as it is a gift and I am thinking of claiming for warranty, where should I warranty for it? And without receipt is it possible to claim?

Disgusted over University's Attitude

This letter was written and will be submitted to the university and hopefully major newspaper. I would like to know is it the same case for those who has graduated from college/university? Did the university/college force you to pay a huge sum of money and giving unneeded "free gifts" in order for you to be certified as "Graduated"?

Seriously, I can enjoy myself better with a 10 course dinner which cost less than RM298 and the RM198 for not attending the convocation is also a daylight roberry. Not sure if the Ministry of Higher Education are aware of this situation or not.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Complaint of Graduation Fee

Referring to the subject mentioned, I, as a fresh graduating student of Universiti Tunku Adbul Rahman, would like to express disgust over the university’s attitude of leaving the students no choice but to pay either RM298 for attending the convocation or RM198 for not attending the convocation.

The handbook stated that for paying RM198 for not attending the convocation, graduated students are entitled for the following items:
a) Degree Certificate
b) Academic Transcript
c) Convocation Book
d) E-album
e) Scroll Box
f) T-shirt
g) Collar Pin

In which the university is not able to justify these items are worth RM198 and furthermore besides item a) Degree Certificate and item b) Academic Transcript, the rest of the items are not needed.

Instead of forcing students to pay unneeded fees, the university should take into consideration that students are not employed and are dependent on parents. I hereby urge the university to provide alternatives, by removing unneeded items and reducing the fees for students who are unable to pay even the RM198 fee.

We understand the cost of the university's preparation for the graduation execise and the fees are lower than ther IPTS in Malaysia but this does not mean the university can make students pay for something they do not need.
The university included many unneccessary items such as

c) Convocation Book

d) E-album

e) Scroll Box

f) T-shirt

g) Collar Pin

thus increasing the charges to be paid by students instead of giving students an option to chose which item they want. I believe the RM198 fees can be lowered with those items not included in the package.

So what if students are not able to afford even the RM198 fees? Does that mean the university is not going to provide the degree certificate and result transcript for those students?

DiGi Prepaid Free RM3 credit

This has started a few months ago to encourage DiGi prepaid users to send out their first MMS but I found out it applies to all prepaid users (including those who did not received this mesage) if you haven't submit for the credit request.

Here is what you should do (assuming your DiGi GPRS and MMS setting is done):

Step 1: Send a MMS (SMS does not works)

Step 2: Type in "RM3" without the quotes.

Step 3: Send to 2000

Step 4: Wait for the confirmation message sent via SMS which should be received in an hour.

The best thing is sending the MMS to 2000 is FREE too! No MMS sending charges.

For those who does not have a MMS capable phone, just slot your SIM card to a borrowed phone and follow the steps above (make sure GPRS and MMS settings are setup).

This request can only be done once, subsequence request and you will receive a "Sorry, you can only request once" reply.

PCI Express 2.0 Graphic Card on P35

As most graphic card support PCI Express 2.0, I intend to get nVidia 8800 GS PCI Express 2.0 but the problem is P35 supports only PCI Express 1.1 and I heard that P45 lacks performance on USB and SATA, and uses more power. Based on the huge price difference too, I think it is wiser to get P35.

The question here is:
1. Is the current PCI Express 1.1 enough for nVidia 8800 GS? If it is, I don't think using a PCI Express 2.0 board will have much difference.

For those who knows this or those who don't know, isn't it exciting? Every prepaid users will be receiving bills / statements next month. Hopefully it will be on every-month basis and it will includes the balance of your account, just like postpaid. This will be a good move since in the past, I noticed my mobile telecommunication service company "stole" some of my credit since I made records of my usage. Luckily they refunded me after I made some complains. This made me wonder what if those who does not made records? So it is not surprising mobile telecommunication service company earns a lot from prepaid users.
