The board supports hot swappable switches so you may change the keys to a different one, good as a board to quick test different switches for enthusiasts. Its a budget, no-frills keyboard with full sized layout, and very satisfying to type on.

PSU killing hard disks

Hi guys,

Was swapping out motherboards and added some hard disk to my less than optimized size of a PC. mostly for storage. My PSU is a Seasonic SS660KM. On one of the 12,5,3.3V rail pins are fully occupied by 3 hard disks and I plugged a new connector to the PSU 12,5,3.3V rails and plugged the pin and sata3 cables. pressed the ON switch and the PSU tripped. Took out the single isolated hard disk and the pc boots up nicely.

after a while I wanted to browse the aforementioned harddisk and it could not be detected in BIOS, let alone windows. Try putting it in a toaster, no spin, dead.

I unscrewed the PCB, found one of the IC is burned. The unfortunate hard disk is a WD Green 1TB. Repeated the single MOLEX connector to the PSU thing with a older laptop hard disk for repeatibility and that hard disk is dead too.

So my question is, is my PSU at fault, and is it badly faulty? Warranty's over btw.

and is there a PCB Donor Replacement/Swap service in Malaysia for the dead hard disk? That's my backup hard disk unfortunately.
