I trust this letter finds you in good health. Weather in Geneva currently is a lovely 5°C which is nice if you're warm blooded like my wife.

Anyway, here's a review for a travel adapter now that the 'post-covid' travel season is in full swing and a lot of us are itching to go travel oversea.

As with all of UGreen products, emphasis is on their sleek and minimalist packaging

What's in the box: 65W GaN Charger + 3 Pins + Manual + Pouch. 100W Type-C cable sold separately

Nifty and small. The charger is compact and lightweight, which makes it easy to carry around. Hand for scale.

Back view, without the pins it makes it easy for this charger to be carried around. Pictured on the right with the US-Pin.

Front view packs with a USB-A with 2*USB-C ports with up to 65W charging. Power Distribution table above gives a good indication on how the distribution is done.

UK & EU supported pins. This travel charger supports US/UK/EU(most if not all) compatibility.

Overall, a decent travel charger with PD Charge and GaN technology which means you can trust it to power all your electronics in one. Highly recommended for it's compact size and ease of use/compatibility.

Pros
- Lightweight, Compact and sturdy
- Good material, matte finish
- GaN Technology with wide range of compatibility for Apple/Android/Laptop charging
- did I mention Compact?

Cons
- There's been complains on the chargers getting overheated, fortunately I didn't come across this issue for the 3 weeks I was using them in Geneva.
- Not Swiss-compatible

On a more serious note, I want to address the issue of not having enough USB slots in newer laptops we have these days. (looking at you Apple )

The UGREEN USB C HUB 10 in 1 USB C Dongle encapsulates the need to having a one-size-fits-all dock/dongle to declutter your desk from all that cables.

Anyway, I'll let the picture do it justice at how nimble and lightweight this beast can be

All the must have slots and more. The USB-C PD also allows 100W Charging so you don't have to buy an additional charger for your laptop. If you're in the market for a reliable PD-Charger you can read them here

Came neatly packaged with minimal plastic packaging. Something I have come to love and expect about their design quality.

For that minimalist design in you, because you're worth it.

Current setup, may change it to include the PD charger and do away with the laptop charger soon.

Pros
- 3 USB 3. 0 ports supports super faster data transfer up to 5Gbps. SD & TF slots support data transfer speeds up to 480Mbps ( SD & TF cards can be read simultaneously ) - Need I say anymore?
- 100W PD Charging, its cathartic to not have to use multiple slots every time I switch desks between office and home
- Universal compatibility, Apple, Windows, Ubuntu, Linux, Lionel...you get the picture
- Simple, lightweight and nimble. Matte finish to top it all
- Space saving, I don't need a docking station in order to have everything slotted in and ready to go

Cons
- I don't have any, yet. Suffice to say that this has saved me the trouble of unplugging my HDMI, Charger and USB-C each time. That can only mean the slots will not loosen up or cause irreparable damage to my laptops.

Over the past 2 weeks or so I've had fun using this dongle. It handled everything I threw at it and more. Highly recommended.

EDIT: Tested the USB slots to charge phone. It pulls power from the laptop and can trickle-charge. Useful to have when you're in need of some extra juice.

UGREEN HiTune T3 ANC Bluetooth Earbuds

So you're in the market for some really affordable ANC Earbuds I hear?

Yes I want something that doesn't break the bank if you know what I mean...

No, I don't know what that means but let me tell you about that time I had my hands on the Ugreen HiTune T3 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Earbuds.

It comes neatly packaged with minimal use of plastic where its unnecessary.

Earbuds. On the left is the x6 vs T3. A certain AirPods come to mind

Fits snugly for moderate exercise or brisk walks. Wouldn't recommend for long distance running tho

Pros
- Immersive Sound : In all its iteration Ugreen continues to amplify their product quality by continuously improving their sound quality with high-resolution treble and punchy bass undertone.
- Active Noise Cancellation: These earbuds feature feed-forward and microphones to eliminate up to 25dB of low-frequency noise, really good if you live in a noisy neighborhood or pesky siblings blaring the TV at home.
- Seamless Connection: Supporting the latest Bluetooth 5.2 for faster transmission and quick pairing
- Battery life: Up to 7 hours with a single charge and 24 hours total playtime with the charging case. Really impressed by the battery life on this earbuds especially considering they use feed-forward noise cancelling
- Clarity: Very clear audio for phone calls: callers on the other end of the line reported little to no distortion or sounds from the environment when taking my calls

Cons
- Maybe I'm biased, but if you've been following my reviews I have a preference for matte finish. This ones a little too shiny for my liking

Overall this has been a fun earphone to play with. Has a lot of positives that goes with it. If you're in the market for some decent quality ANC earbuds you certainly cannot go wrong with these nifty little product.

But I also hate the long traffic jam's everywhere, even inside KL! Thankfully we have 'Waze' to bring us around with ease

You know what that means right? Yep, say goodbye to your battery life bcoz Waze/GMaps is a battery hogger and if you're like me, bringing a power bank around simply is not feasible.

Pros
- Surprisingly not bulky, also emits low heat
- Fast charging, your car battery and your children will thank you during those 10-hr drives
- Did I say I like matte? I love matte finish on them

Verdict
Win. This has now replaced my 18W Car Charger to be my daily driver. As someone who hates bringing bulky PB around I appreciate the fact that my battery is charged at such speed and have a decent battery life charged before my next destination. I think you would appreciate it more while travelling short distances as well.

Another year has passed by, much like last year with most of use spending our time being at home to stop the spread.

In today's circumstances, boring means good i guess. But being bored at home with everyone else in your family around the house can be suffocating. Well to me, at least.

My best go-to for some quiet, me-time for the past couple of months has been the Ugreen HiTune for its noise-cancelling TWS Qualcomm powered earbuds.

Noise Cancellation: The HiTune X6 boasts a 35 decibels Dual Depth Active Noise Reduction. Warning - not to use when on a bike or running near roadsides

Game mode: 50ms ultra-low latency, giving you that stable, accurate audio experience while gaming

Battery life: It carries a 50mAh battery, giving it 6 hours of single use. Add that up with a charging box battery of 500mAh and you have a total 26 hours of long battery life. By far the best in-class battery hold I have experienced

Neat packaging - lovely black-matte with non-glossy silver finish. Subtly comfortable without being showoff-ish

Verdict
Pros
- Snug design, with ergonomic fit especially when doing fast movements like running or cycling
- Better, much improved voice assistant. I also love the fact that it fades out the music and not stop abruptly
- Easy on the ear - the noise cancelling is great, call quality is good and clear for both ends
- LONG Battery life - seriously, I have not heard the 'battery-low' voice for a long time. I miss it sometimes

Cons
- Different volume level between ANC On and Off modes
- No AptX Audia Codec

Can we talk about chargers? You know...the ones Apple decides is environmentally friendly by removing them?

Yea... that Apple's decision to remove chargers in their latest models definitely drew some ridicule from its users and Android fans alike.

Do you still have headphone jacks on your phones?

Me neither..

Technology today has made it possible for us to still be able to enjoy good music minus the clutter of having a wired headphone.

This is my very-average review of Ugreen HiTune T1 Bluetooth 5.0 wireless earbuds

Right off the bat, the packaging was very neat and looks pretty neat. The good folks at UGreen are a pretty savvy bunch to even think thru the unpacking experience

I'm such a sucker for minimal and neat packages as these

Up close and personal only makes this even more desirable

If you followed Ugreen's Wireless earbuds iteration this version has pretty much included all the best a wireless earbuds (minus the price of a Samsung or an Apple) has to offer.

I may sound like I'm exaggerating a bit here, but hear me out.

4-Mics Wireless Earbuds
This Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds adopt Ariha's chipset AB1536 that supports new TWS MCSync tech. Built-in 4 MEMS microphones not only provide superior audio and crystal-clear calls (tested time and again with very minimal losses of audio due to signal interruptions). Noise cancellation is also pretty solid as comments I received from the other end are that my voice sounds clear and crisper.

EQ Mode
This wireless earbuds have been upgraded with EQ mode that comes with well-balanced and deep bass settings. Touch controls are a tad too sensitive but thats just my preference.

Comfort
Comes with various silicone ear tips. Ultra-light design and support IPX5 waterproof, protect it against sweat and water splash.

Ultra-long Battery Life
Also supports USB C fast charge. A single charge provides up to 5 hrs playtime and the charging case delivers more than 24 hrs. The earbuds and charging case can be fully charged within 1.5 hrs. Charging within 15 minutes can last up to an hour.

Quality
Pretty darn good for an item at its price point. Bass is tad a little overboard but when you compare it with the 1st iteration (review here they have come a long way.

Portable and Compact, the matte finish is not just easy to look at but anti-fingerprint too

- Sturdy, doesn't feel hollow or cheap quality
- The LED features makes it easy to estimate the amount of juice you have left
- 1 year warranty (can't stress how important this is)

Tronsmart Onyx Ace TWS Wireless Earphones

Trust you're keeping safe in these uncertain times?

Living at home can be quite frustrating, your noisy kids, the oddly noisy neighbor or your MIL

So whenever I feel I need some alone time (read;away from my family), I rely on my trusted earbuds to keep me company.

With that said, I'd like to present to my 'very-average' review of Tronsmart's latest iteration - the Onyx Ace TWS Wireless Earphones

Had a lot of fun during the unboxing of this nifty little thingamajig, pictured here with the Ultra-Slim USB-C 10k Tronsmart Power Bank

minimal and no-fuss packaging

It's biggest selling point are that these are cheaper alternatives to 'Airpods' offering clarity in voice calls with it's Quad-Microphone and Environment Noise Cancelling features. Fiddling with them over the weekend it felt like the calls still sometimes suffer from the dreaded echos but the overall quality vastly improved when compared to its older brothers Tronsmart Spunky Beat and the 1st-gen Tronsmart Pro.

Pros
- clarity and noise cancellation works pretty well
- excellent sound quality
- small case, easy to carry
- long-lasting battery life
- minimal white light, excellent for use in dark-rooms
- surprisingly snug on the ear, but can be troublesome when lying down
- Instant connection, its on-ear detection feature instantly switched on my music player when engaged

Cons
- takes some getting used to with it's one-tap control motions, compared to the older gens these comes with new tap function
- fingerprint magnet, hope Tronsmart will stick to its 'matte' finishing which makes them unique

Verdict
Is this the 'Airpod' killer?

That's really a matter of preference if you ask me. Would I spend RM 700 for an Apple instead of something that costs <RM 200 for features that is almost as good as them?

I thought I'd give a collective review having used these headphones for some time now instead of the usual reviews whenever new models of Tronsmart headphones come out.

Hand for scale. The Onyx Neo is slightly smaller and fatter than the larger Spunky Beat.

Fitting snugly the latest iteration of Onyx Neo comes with a cool ambient 'halo' light along its edges

Pros
- What I like about Tronsmart products is their tendency to adapt to the latest techs available i.e. Qualcomm aptX, wireless charging (Spunky Pro), Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C charging, IPX5 splashproof
- Progressively their models (Spunky Pro > Spunky Beat > Onyx Neo) has shown improvements in both sound quality and clarity
- Bass feels deeper, treble sounds smoother. What impressed me most of all its durability. I've dropped these headpieces countless and they still look and work like a charm
- Price point, they may not be cheapest in the market but for that extra bit you spend you get what you are paying for

Cons
- Occasionally the Bluetooth headphones disconnect intermittently, apparently quite common in Android due to its power setting feature. So it isn't exactly a con but worth highlighting
- The Spunky Beat version had a volume issue (volume is low even on high setting) but this is sorted out with the Onyx Neo version

Imagine 10 years from now we'd all be wondering how in Dodo's name did we have such archaic technology around?

Just like when the previous generation transitioned from VCR tapes to DVD, a lot of data is still stored in compact discs. With slimmer and tinier computers than my waistline the days of CD/DVD will soon be numbered.

So I've decided it may be worthwhile to review a CD burner.

Loving the matte finish on this one. Felt light but not flimsy.

Nothing much to shout about the front view except for the infamous DVD logo. Very very minimal.

Verdict?

It's tough being a reviewer in Lyn sekarang. Views doesn't guarantee more products to review la you know?. Added to that barely anyone comments on the post anymore making someone like me wonder whats the point of it all? But then I remember whenever I had to research about an item online its always some mat-salleh or some Youtuber reviewing them in Hindi. Chances are you have to take that chance and hope the item does what it says it does.

Neat packaging, I've yet to see any vendor using environment-safe packaging to date which is rather disappointing tbh. Pictured here is also the Tronsmart T6+ reviewed not too long ago. You can read it here

As you can see also the back of the case comes with a charging cable built-in which is pretty convenient and hassle-free. Charging only takes an hour to full-charge.

Really cool ambience light giving the Beat that 'googly-eye' look. The colors alternates between red and blue but turns off upon pairing and successful connection to your Bluetooth device

From the onset this caught quite a bit of 'stare' from a number of onlookers. I liked the ambiance light features which were quite futuristic. With the addition of AptX (high fidelity & lossless audio technology) thanks to the Qualcomm chip offers 'True Wireless' Stereo experience. Obviously tastes in music differs from everyone however the crispness in treble and loud bass which Tronsmart products have been known to excel in offers a rather interesting and pleasant experience.

Unlike its predecessor Spunky Pro the Spunky Beat offers better comfort over long period of use. With its offering of multiple earbuds it caters to all users alike.

The IPX5 splashproof offered excellent resistant to sweats and the earpieces remained intact during running or aerobic workouts. I've yet to have issue with it falling off easily during my running sessions. Noise cancellation is also pretty good but also allows you to be aware of your surroundings.

Overall the Spunky Beat iteration is a step in the right direction. With more and more devices comes equipped with Qualcomm technology you are guaranteed to enjoy a pleasant audio-gasm.

With the 11.11 sale around the corner, make sure to give it your serious consideration. It's low price point (<RM150) makes this an excellent alternative if you're looking to set the trend for something unique and different.

'True' Wireless / TWS

Inconvenience breeds innovation, right? When Apple decided to retire their headphone jacks the plethora of wireless earphones/headphones took the market by storm. Everyone started spotting that white earbuds around their ears.

Trendy kan?

But then a new breed of 3rd-party headphones started upping their game by offering cheaper alternative using better tech and lower price point (as much as 3x of an Apple Airpod) by introducing True Wireless earpiece.

But what is 'True Wireless' or TWS as its commonly called?

Wireless and True Wireless headphones are actually different. The important distinction is that “true wireless” headphones completely lack a cable or connector between the earpieces (think wireless charging or Qi Charging cases). “Wireless” headphones are still connected in some way (over-head like Bose, or around the back of the neck (like many sports sets), but no longer need access to a phone jack.

Yea, so what you may ask?

a) CONVENIENCE, duh
b) EASY ACCESS, like how many times you've had to untangle those cords after storing them? even “tangle-free” or fabric-covered corded headphones can at times be difficult to unwind or falls funny after tangling
c) QUICK PAIRING, seamless. Hassle-free. Easy.

Can the wireless earbuds last ALL day long?
When the first cable-free models appeared, among the biggest complaints were poor battery life. Battery life is arguably the weakest spot of all true wireless gadgets even when compared to wireless headphones. Part of the reason for this is because maintaining connectivity between the earbuds as well as with your phone is intensive on the battery of the earbuds.

Another reason is that the smaller form factor makes it difficult to fit in a large battery. So far, the longest estimated battery life available is eight hours. The majority of the “true wireless” models typically available can last between three to five hours.

But inconvenience is the mother of innovation la katakan, many manufacturers managed to find a solution for short battery life – charging cases for “true wireless,” and for the “wireless” models, some manufacturers put an extra battery in the cord..

Almost all “true wireless” headphones comes with a charging case that can charge both earpieces simultaneously. Most of the cases actually carry between two-15 or more extra charges, so you can charge your headphones on-the-go or even charge your mobile phone when it’s running low on power.

''You know preference is rather subjective but I'll try to be as objective as I can. The BT 5.0 meant that I can have better range when using them to make calls, run around the treadmill or simply moving around the house when I'm cleaning up. The speakers offer better clarity without compromising on deep bass.

I did encounter slight discomfort when using them for long hours but that is expected tbh. The battery life is pretty solid and can be charged up to 4x times using its charging case so I don't have any complains about it. Of course you know I like how understated it looks with its minimal designs.

Overall, this was well worth the purchase and bang for your buck. I'd recommend using it. Whats more the upcoming 11.11 sale would get you better discounts too if you're interested.''

Verdict

Overall, this all-metal car charging kit looks great with it's matte finish. Tucked in snugly in my charging compartment its minimal design makes it appealing if you're an 'OCD' like me.
But it's main point is in its consistent charge outputs (tested with Ampere where the charge rate is consistent depending on where your battery life is >1000mAh).

I clocked quick charge with little to no worries on the charger becoming loose overtime when plugging and unplugging its cables. The Type-C to Lightning cable works like a charm although its still 'early days' for adopting them but once you've made that transition you do not want to go back..

For something this inexpensive (<50 range) I can have no complains in its charging capacity. Furthermore it offers me the comfort of not having to worry about NOT charging my phone overnight.

Worth the buy.

Tronsmart Element T6 Plus Bluetooth Speaker

This is yet another review of yet another Tronsmart Product. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The Element T6 Plus is one a kind and it appeals to the 'practical' in me. A Bluetooth 5.0 Wireless speaker with Water-Resistant and an in-built powerbank is yet another reason why I keep coming back to Tronsmart products. FYI I've done a similar review of the Element Wireless Speaker family previously.

Okay, but what's so great about it you ask?

For starters, it offers a range of input options with the usual suspects of Aux-In, a TF/Micro SD card, a USB slot to input your flash drive/use as a Powerbank. It's equipped with a Type-C slot which means faster charging time (5 Hours).

And then there's the Multi-Functional Control Wheel atop the Speaker. You control the volume using a simple rotating wheel (Analog!). Press to play & pause music, or make hands-free phone calls. Hold for 3 seconds to activate the voice assistant. Extra street-cred points also when your party friends compliment you on it too

Mesh shaped finish with a glossy silver underneath gives it a premium look and feel

Verdict?

The T6 comes preset with 3 different options to choose from - Vocal, 3D Deep Bass & Extra Bass. Whilst I keep going back to using
the first two I noticed a little distortion whilst playing rap musics when used with Extra Bass. That said the bass is powerful and you literally feel its vibration especially when watching a movie e.g. explosive or action scenes

It boasts up to 15 hours of play time, of which on my first full charge I was able to get ard 10 hours + 40% charge on my OnePlus 5T (with a consistent charging rate of 1200-1300mah) whilst on 2nd charge I averaged between 14-16 hours so it largely depends on usage types. Otherwise the long battery life meant that its hassle-free. The battery power is said to be able to hold up to 24 months

Tronsmart offers 12 months local manufacturer warranty, you can also extend an additional 6 months by registering them online

Overall I encountered very little fuss on the BT Speaker. You can easily pair any devices and the BT 5.0 means your range can be longer. I really enjoyed toying around with the Analog control wheel. Overall look and feel of the product feels premium on hand and gives off a sturdy look.

The water-resistant feature means that I can enjoy using them often in public areas/setting with peace of mind.
