Tint for new Mazda 3

I recently got a Mazda 3 and getting a tint voucher (discount) with it for a tint I pick from their selection:

The options I am considering are:
- Smart Window (house-brand of Huper Optik)
- Vessolar Tint (house-brand of Llumar)

My concerns:
- Workmanship
- JPJ Complaince
- Heat Reduction

Please do add-in if you have knowledge or experience with either.

Any other suggestion within RM1500 budget is welcome too. I am exploring my options which I will cross check with their options.

2017 Mazda 3 GL vs HS

I have decided on a Mazda 3 GL 2017 for various reasons. But after the booking I am having second thoughts on whether I should have gone for the HS (High Spec) version of it instead. The upgrade will cost me about 15k more.

Attaching the differences list as an image with 1st column being GL and the 3rd being the HS.

Need suggestion for an SUV

I am looking into buying an SUV but I'm very unsure of what to get.

Here are some of the factors that are important to me for the SUV to be:

- Reliable
- Easy to maintain
- Budget within 40-46k
- 2010 and above production

Since I have little knowledge in this sector, I would appreciate some helpful advice.

Hi,

I drive a Proton Persona '09 SE.

My car has reached 130000kms and while at 100000km I changed the water pump, timing belt and engine mountings. I was willing to know what are the other rubber wear and tear parts I need to change. Is it possible to get a list of all possible rubber parts that need to be changed like bushings etc? I also changed the suspension and the springs, so ride is a bit bumpy but also while going over uneven roads there's a lot of noise. So Im assuming changing these parts might help.

Looking into buying a new Honda

Hi everyone. I have been looking into buying a new car and for the higher resale value, I have decided on a Honda.

- I am currently driving a Proton Persona SE (a sedan), will keep that and along with that I want a Hatchback next.
- But I am not sure about the Honda Jazz (2017 1.5V face-lift version)'s performance.
- I liked the Civic when I test drove it but the price difference between these two are quite significant.
- I am not looking into City because it's big and a very basic car.

So my question is the Jazz a fun-to-drive car and yet serve the daily office going purpose?
And what's the good, bad and the ugly for Jazz that I should look out for?

Which cooking pans to use?

So I recently moved houses and my new house comes with a built in Ariston Hotpoint, for which, somehow, the manual doesn't say anything but warning of usage.

I read a lot about it online and went ahead with the induction pots I owned before since it's a flat top. I tried cooking twice but both the times from one of my induction pots I started getting a funny smell. After that I stopped.

Now I want to know if anything knows the right kind of pots to be used and if the smell is actually for using the wrong pan.

New Mazda 2 vs Used 8/9th gen Honda Civic

I'm currently driving a 09 Persona SE and I want to get a second car within my budget of 85K. I'm currently looking at Mazda 2 which I have test driven, but I'm also considering a 8/9th gen used Honda Civic.

My priorities are:

-Fast
-Fun to drive
-Reliable
-Relatively cheaper maintenance costs
-Good resale value

Thus I have excluded Honda City, Vios, Axia, Bezza, Saga from my list. I have also excluded the VW Polo due to its higher maintenance cost. So I would really appreciate some advice on whether to get a Honda Civic 8/ 9th gen which is relatively cheaper than a Mazda 2, which will be all in all brand new.

Please feel free to provide any other suggestions for cars that I might be missing out on. Thank you for your help!

Sharp, high-pitch inconsistent sound from inside

Background Info : I have a Proton Persona SE and have recently changed my exhaust system, about 2 weeks ago; changed the tensioner bearing last week;and I got new rims yesterday, changed from stock.

After changing the rims, I kept hearing a sharp, high-pitch, high frequency sound inconsistently from the back of the car while driving back. It only shows up in bumpy roads, but not on speed bumps. It sounds like metal rumbling but very sharp and high pitched.

I have taken it for inspection doubting my suspension or wheel system produced it but without much success. Even the shop could not detect the root cause of the noise.

It has been very frustrating not being able to identify the actual problem. And too much of that noise gives me a headache. Has anyone faced this kind of a problem before? Please do share your knowledge, opinion or experience on whatever might be the cause of this.

All but driver side carpets soaking wet

I drive a Persona SE. For the past 2 days I have been getting a foul soggy smell from my car which seemed to be increasing with time. Assuming it was the from the water from the umbrella I kept in the car for 2hours after the rain one day, I ignored it thinking it will dry up with time.

Today I was curious to check how much exactly was wet. To my utter surprise, all 3 seats, both the back seats and the passenger seat carpets were soaking wet. The centerpart between the two rear seats, underneath both passenger and driver seats and also the floor infront of the driver seat were completely dry.

I brought the carpets out to dry them outside the car. Now I'm worried the car floor will get ruined or cause rusting underneath the car. I'm also very afraid of more complicated damages.

Please help me understand what is going on. I can't think of any explanation. All your help and advice is much appreciated!

(WTA) '08 Proton Persona vibrating at high speeds

Hi,

I drive a 2008 Proton Persona SE model. I recently changed the Engine Mounts, Timing Belts and AC Belt since my car already reached 75k mileage from Dori's Autoworks but using all Genuine part i bought myself. After changing all the parts the car does feel smooth and less noise but there something else that i noticed, last weekend when I was going to Penang on the highway around 100-120km/h and 3-4k rpm the car was shaking like vibrating, even my phone on the gps stand was shaking, but it doesnt always happen im guessing only happens when im going up hill or engine needs to push a bit. Not sure what is causing this.

Im curious to know could it be the engine mountings fitted wrongly or any of the other parts i changed? Please take note that I also did wheel alignment and balancing last month.

Hi. I am buying a Proton Persona SE' 2008 from a used car dealer. Can anyone please tell me what things to check when buying a second hand proton car?? This is my first time buying a Proton. So I really don't know what to look for. I have already paid the booking and I'm waiting for the car to go for inspection in puspakom. The dealer insisted once the inspection is done, I pay him full.

Can anyone please accompany me to check the car, before I officially get it??

Please help me out in this situation. I am very unsure what to do with this car now. Moreover, I am college student. Buying a new car would mean more loss. I dont have the money to upgrade. The dealer cheated me with a previously damaged car. Now I cant cheat people selling it to them. I am very much traumatized owning this car.

URGENT!Battery overfilled!corroded paint!

I overfilled one of my car battery cells around 2 weeks ago. It was bubbling but I thought it would be used up over time. On my way home, the dashboard lights started flickering and at some point the engine turned off in my parking. When I opened the hood to check, the retainer or the clamp had already corroded and melted to the hood. I really need the car ! any idea who I can call over to fix my car urgently? and what to do the about the paint? Is there anyone who can fix the paint of the hood underneath by coming over ??I need a reliable person to call over to my condo, cause i dont think i can drive it anywhere now.
btw, I live in Sri Petaling area.

HELP! Car Deal gone WRONG-need suggestion!

Hi. I am an International Student and I owned a Toyota AE92 till last week when I decided to upgrade my car and found a dealer in Old Klang Road to Trade-in my car with an additional 11k to get a Toyota SEG'96. For my previous car they made me sign the 'oath' in JPJ, took my signature for the paperwork (by thier runner) and made me pay the entire sum and drive away with the new car.

After that it has been over 1 week they couldn't manage to give me the original grant. The previous road tax expired on 31 March. Therefore I can't even drive the car any longer. The dealer is saying the car was bought with loan from UMBC which does not exist any more as it merged with RHB in later years. So it is difficult to retrieve the papers. He is saying "wait for 2 more days" every time I call him and gets really pissed.

In this situation, should I lodge a police report? Do you think I have been cheated? What should I do? Please help me out, any helpful suggestions would be really appreciated!
