Gorilla kena shot and killed

Gorilla shot and killed after grabbing four-year-old at zoo in Ohio

Zoo staff believe the boy crawled through a fence before falling into a moat surrounding the enclosure, when he was grabbed by the gorilla

A special zoo response team has shot and killed a 17-year-old gorilla that grabbed and dragged a four-year-old boy who fell into the gorilla exhibit moat, the Cincinnati Zoo’s director said.

Authorities said the boy, who fell 10ft to 12ft, is expected to recover after being picked up out of the moat and dragged by the gorilla for about 10 minutes. He was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Centre with serious injuries.

Director Thane Maynard said the zoo’s dangerous animal response team, which practices for such incidents, decided the boy was in “a life-threatening situation” and that they needed to put down the 181kg-plus male gorilla named Harambe.

Zookeepers shoot man with tranquiliser while trying to save him from lions
“They made a tough choice and they made the right choice because they saved that little boy’s life,” Maynard said. “It could have been very bad.”

A Cincinnati fire department incident report said the gorilla “was violently dragging and throwing the child” when they were called.

The child was in between the gorilla’s legs when the gorilla was shot, fire officials said.

Maynard said he hadn’t talked with the boy’s parents yet.

He said the gorilla didn’t appear to be attacking the child, but that it was “an extremely strong” animal in an agitated situation. He said tranquilising the gorilla wouldn’t have knocked it out immediately, leaving the boy in danger.

Maynard said it was the first time the team had killed a zoo animal in such an emergency situation, and he called it “a very sad day” at the zoo. The lowland gorilla is an endangered species.

The incident was reported at around 4pm. The area around the gorilla exhibit was closed off on Saturday afternoon as zoo visitors reported hearing screaming.

Harambe came to Cincinnati in 2015 from the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas.

Hospital officials said they couldn’t release any information on the child. Authorities hadn’t released the child’s name.

Maynard said the zoo’s Gorilla World area would be open as usual on Sunday. He said the zoo believed the exhibit remains safe. They are still investigating, but zoo officials believe the boy crawled through a railing barrier, then fell into the moat.

The zoo prides itself for its work in protecting endangered species, and has been part of successful captive breeding efforts in recent years in the effort to save the endangered Sumatran rhino.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

SOS
5 MOST CRUEL EXECUTION METHODS OF ALL TIME!

1.Sawing

Sawing in the half was an incredibly cruel execution method, used mostly in the Medieval Europe.

During the process, the criminal would be hung upside-down from a tree or gallows, and a large saw would be then used to slice his or her body in half, starting with the crotch, all the way to the chest and head. While some victims were cut completely in half, most of them were only sliced up to their abdomen, prolonging their agony.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Because the victims were hung upside-down, the brain was receiving sufficient bloodflow to keep them alive and concious until the saw finally reached the main arteries in the abdomen. In extreme cases, the execution could last several hours

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

In the Chinese version of this execution method, the sawing would begin at the top of the head, with the victim standing upward, causing immediate death after few seconds.

2.Death by a Thousand Cuts(Ling Chi)

Originally from China, this was one of the most brutal execution methods ever fashioned. It was in use roughly from the year 900, until it was banned in 1905. It was a punishment reserved only for the harshest of crimes, such as treason and fratricide. During this procedure, sharp knife was used to kill the criminal, gradually removing portions of his flesh over a long period of time.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The victim was tied to a wooden frame, usually in a public place.. The flesh was then sliced from the body, at first only from victim’s breasts and thigs. Then his limbs were gradually amputated, followed by ears, nose and genitals. After 10-20 minutes, victim was decapitated or stabbed to the heart. During the execution, opium was sometimes administered as an act of mercy.

3.Crucifixion

The Crucifixion was an ancient execution method, in which the criminal’s hands and feet were bound or nailed to a wooden, cross-like structure. It was a capital punishment reserved for slaves, traitors, ”heretics”, and usually the worst of criminals. It became widespread during the reign of Alexander the Great, but it still remains in occasional use in some countries.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

There were various methods of performing the crucifixion. Usually, the prisoner had to drag the crossbeam of his cross, weighing around 100 pounds, to the place of execution. Subsequently, his outstretched arms were bound to the crossbeam, or sometimes nailed through the wrists, and the crossbeam was raised and fixed to the already standing upright post.

Death was usually caused by overall exhaustion or by heart failure. Sometimes, to shorten the victim’s suffering, his legs were shattered using an iron club, so that subsequent asphyxiation soon ended his life.

4.Impalement

Impalement on a pole was one of the most gruesome methods of execution, often used during the Middle Ages. Criminal was be forced to sit on a thick, sharpened wooden pole. The pole was then slowly raised upright and the criminal was left to gradually slide further down the pole only by his or her own weight. The pole then emerged through victim’s chest, shoulder or neck. Sometimes, it could take more than three days for a person to finally die, in slow and painful way.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Impalement was especially prevalent in 15.th century Romania, during the reign of Vlad Dracula, commonly known as Vlad the Impaler. He reportedly executed more than 80,000 people this way, and often enjoyed having a meal while watching them die.

In an East Asian variant of this execution method, victim was securely tied in place above a young bamboo shoot.Over the course of several days, the sharp, rapidly growing bamboo shoot would puncture and completely penetrate the victim’s body, eventually emerging throughthe other side. This method of execution was allegedly practised in 19.th century China and Malaysia, and even during the WWII by Japanese soldiers.

5.Flaying

Skinning alive, also known as flaying, was one of the most gruesome execution methods ever conceived, especially prevalent during the classical antiquity. It was used mostly on captured soldiers and dangerous criminals.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The Aztecs of Mexico often flayed their war prisoners during ritual human sacrifices. There are also many indications of ancient Assyrians flaying the defeated rulers of their enemies and nailing their skin to the city walls, as a warning to all potential rebels.

In most used method of flaying, person’s hands were tied above his or her head, while the executioner gradually cut off all the skin using a very knife, starting at the face. Often, attempts were made to keep the skin intact. Another method involved severely burning the victim, and then gradually peeling his or her skin off.

In the year 415, Hypatia of Alexandria, famous female mathematician and philosopher, was allegedly flayed alive by a enraged Christian mob, using sharp oyster shells.

Beware when finding job, guy's...

KUALA LUMPUR: Barely a month into her new job, a 28-year-old woman claimed she was sexually assaulted after her employer accused her of stealing RM18,000.

Lee claimed she was also forced to strip naked together with her colleague. She alleged that her employer, who runs a gambling website, then took a nude video of them.

Lee said she applied for the job together with her colleague Tan, 24.

She had come across a job advertisement for web marketing administrations via a newspaper in April.

Lee and Tan went for the interview on April 21 and was told by the employer that he ran a gambling website.

“We both started work and were given a monthly salary of RM2,400 each,” she said during a press conference yesterday, accompanied by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department chief Datuk Seri Michael Chong.

The employer also provided accommodation for Lee and Tan in an apartment in Kepong, where they also had to work to operate the website.

Lee said that on May 7 she called her employer to ask him to deposit cash into the company account so as to pay the winners.

At about 3am on May 8, her employer came to the apartment with his wife and several other men before accusing her, Tan and another colleague of stealing RM18,000.

“We explained there was no such thing as all the transactions were made online.

“But he refused to listen and got angry,” she said.

Lee claimed the employer and the men then started hitting them with an insecticide aerosol can and also used a taser gun on them.

She said they were then forced to strip naked before a nude video of them was taken.

The trauma, she claimed, did not end there. Lee was then blindfolded and taken by several of the men to another room where she was tied-up before she felt “something being shoved into my private parts”.
She said they were only released at night after they were forced to admit that they had taken the money and would return the amount in a year.

The employer also took their handphones and forced them to transfer RM1,000 that was in their bank accounts.

Lee said the employer threatened them against lodging a police report or he would kill them before looking to do the same with their families.

She lodged a police report anyway, together with Tan, at the Kepong police station.

Chong said that if there were other similar victims, they should not be afraid to come forward and lodge police reports.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said police were investigating the matter.

ACP Munusamy said police were looking for a man and a woman, Nikkie Tan and Brenda Tan, to assist in investigations.

The photo has gone viral among netizens since the incident was uncovered.

Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Farid Alatrash Wahid said no police report had been lodged so far.

A woman, said it be the neighbour of the boy's family, had spotted the boy chained up, snapped his picture and confronted his father.

To her surprise, the father denied any wrongdoing and instead threatened to beat her with a wooden stick.

She refused to back off and vowed to alert the authorities if the abuse continued.

Paya Terubong Village Security and Development Committee chairman Frankie Kee visited the house at 4pm yesterday.

The boy, who was properly dressed and had no injuries, was in the house with his father when the door was opened.

Kee ticked off the man for chaining his son naked, and the man confided in Kee that he had to punish the boy for being naughty.

It is learnt that the boy is the man's only son. It is claimed that this was the second such time the boy had been subjected to such a punishment.

A boy was found chained naked to the railings of an apartment’s staircase by his father in Paya Terubong, George Town.

SOS

SHAH ALAM: A restaurant here was fined RM4,000 by the Sessions Court for raising the price of its nasi lemak by RM1.

Restoran Silva's Curry House in Subang Jaya raised its price for a normal plate of nasi lemak from RM2.50 in January to RM3.50 in June last year.

It failed to furnish sales receipt to justify the increase after a report was lodged with the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.

T. Gopinath, 36, the owner of the restaurant, pleaded guilty to the charge at a Sessions Court here and was fined RM4,000 for the offence.

The company committed the offence at the restaurant premises at 121, Jalan SS15/5A, Subang Jaya at 11.25am on June 29 last year, under Section 53A of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.

It is punishable under Section 57(b) of the same Act, which carries a fine of up to RM500,000 or two years in jail, or both, upon conviction.

Mohd Zarif Anwar Mohd Ali from the ministry lodged a complaint against the company.

Through a court interpreter, Gopinath, who was not represented, requested for a lighter sentence as he was the sole breadwinner in his family and had to support his aged mother, who had just undergone heart bypass surgery.

Deputy Public Prosecutor A. Karthiyayini requested the court to give a deterrent punishment as the company had been in business for three years and should have been aware of its duty to keep important business records.

Judge Ahmad Azhari Abdul Hamid later meted out the RM4,000 fine, in default 14 days in jail.

In another case, Ting Pooi Guan, 59, director of Trendcell Sdn Bhd, which owns the Jaya Grocer supermarket, pleaded guilty at the same court to selling the Sweet Meadow New Zealand Wild Flower Honey 500g at an unreasonably high price.

Judge Ahmad Azhari fined the company for RM30,000 in default of a month's jail.

The company was said to have attempted to increase its profit margin by raising the price of the honey from RM28.90 on January 6 to RM43.99 on May 6 last year. Both prices were inclusive of the goods and services tax (GST).

The company is said to have committed the offence at the Jaya Grocer premises at Mutiara Tropicana PJU 3 in Petaling Jaya.

It was charged with an offence under Section 14(1) of the Act, which carries a fine of up to RM500,000 upon conviction.

For second or subsequent offences, the offender faces a maximum RM1mil fine if found guilty.

DPP Karthiyayini prosecuted and Ting was represented by his lawyer V. Kalearasu.

Both Gopinath and Ting paid their respective fines.

http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2016...mak-price-hike/

I want share 1 story of mine but can't really recall or remember all clearly since I'm still 0.5" that time.
When I was in primary one, I was study at St Anthony, Perak. I remember got one day our school celebrate canteen day, few of us like 5-6 people play hide and seek at school compound. On the half way we play, we meet our others classmate dont know at 1st or 2nd floor already. We saw them peeking the class door at the end of 1 classroom and shouting 'hantu'!! and run to us.. we ask what happen and they told us got hantu conteng papan hitam and desk move itself

Out of curiosity, we all go back to the classroom and peek through the small hole at the door.. (that classroom is been chain lock from outside). When I peeking through it I saw the blackboard really conteng by itself and at some point the chalk throw at us!! Of course it didn't hit us because the hole is really small only, can't throw out. We all want to see it again but got freak out after 1 fatty pengawas shout at us! After that we all run back to our classroom. IIRC, there is a memo on bilik guru state that last time got 1 teacher or headmaster died in that classroom due to heart attack. I only study 1 years at that school so don't have much memories on it..

** if anyone study at that school before maybe can tell me more story about it
