Microsoft Windows Activation Issue

Ok, I bought a new PC that come with Windows 8 OEM license. I transfer my hard disk from my old PC, that come with Windows 7 Professional license to this new PC.

Now, Windows is prompting me to activate my windows on this new PC, I tried my old PC win7 cd key, wont work and there is no CDkey on the new PC. Any idea how I can activate my copy of Windows ??

DVI-D to VGA

Hi, I just bought an Acer X2610 SFF desktop. I want to connect the CPU to two Panasonic LCD TV. The CPU itself come with a VGA and a DVI-D ports which I used to connect to the both TV. I used a DVI-D to VGA adapter due to the TVs doesnt have any DVI port but no signal were detected on the TV that connect to the DVI-D port. Any idea how I can achieve the desired result ??

Hi, my friend and I are looking for a established Horde guild for game progression. I'm a DK Tank with ilvl of 350 and he is feral Druid with ilvl 353. We are available at 8pm GMT+8 on weekdays (equivalent to 11pm server time IIRC). If the guild itself is MY/SG then better but we are opened to anything since we are bored of waiting our existing guild to let us go raiding.

Buyer Need to Pay Agent Comm?

Right, my gf's mom just bought a house and this property agent claimed that the seller did not pay him on the commission and want my gf to compensate on this by paying him a sum of amount. Now, the S&P has been done and this particular agent is barking to my gf asking for the commission. We checked with the seller and he told us he already pay the agent his commission. And now the agent is asking us out to talk about this.

Before I decided to meet up with him, I just want to clarify something. From my understanding, the commission is always payable by the seller, not the buyer, anyone can confirm this for me ?? Do buyer has the obligation to pay the agent his commission ?? If no, what should I do ?? I have considered to make a complaint to this guy office and worse come to worse, file a complaint to the authority. But before I take up any action, I would like to ask you guys opinion on my case. Thanks in advance.

Ok. I have a website with an inquiry form written in PHP, whenever someone filled up the form and hit the submit button, the server will generate an email containing the info to my email, standard IT procedure. Before I go to my problem, here's my network scenario.

My website server and email server are hosted by 3rd party and each of them sit on 2 different servers in 2 different location, both are using the same domain name (let's say my domain is ABCDEF.com). Dont ask me why, long story which I dont want to go over. Now my problem is, whenever the inquiry form generate an email, I cant receive via ABCDEF.com email. I have tried to have the inquiry form to send to my hotmail as a backup and I managed to received it via hotmail. I must stress my email (ABCDEF.com) is working fine, but it couldnt receive email generated by my website, which is using the same domain name.

Any clue of what's the cause ??

Add User or Group button greyed out in Win2k3

Hi to all the win2k3 sifu out there. I'm trying to add some users into "Allow Logon Through Terminal Services" policy but the Add User & Group button is greyed out. I logon on as Administrator and this is the only server in my office, any clue of how to solve this ??

Cant send email out

We have 3 offices (HQ + 2 branches) and we outsource our email system to those web hosting service provider. I'm based in one of the branch and I have this problem which I cant send email out via Outlook when I'm in the office (same goes to all my colleagues). The weird thing is, I can send email out when I'm using my HQ and the other branch internet line. I can send email out via webmail regardless where I am.

I have changed the modem and even bypass the switch to do a testing, but the problem still there. I have really ran out of idea what cause this problem, so if anyone could give some suggestion I would appreciate it very much.

Disappointing Game of 2007

Year 2007 had officially put its curtain down, welcome to the year 2008. As usual, game review are there at the end of year or start of the new year. Since we already has a thread discussing on the top game, this thread will be focusing on the game that released in the year 2007 and have disappointed you or did not live up to the standards that they used to despite their reputation, or the marketing strategy that the developers/distributors have done before the game launched which make you, or us to think it's gonna be a very nice game.

Of course I will expect some debate over the course as this thread progress, but as long as the you have valid points to hold your ground on your opinions then you will be fine. Feel free to criticize, bash, spill your disappointment and anger, it's the consumer's right, aint it ??

Alright.. I decided to register my own company for some IT projects. But before I proceed to SSM, I would like to know some of the details, FYI, I will be registering sole proprietorship.

1) Do I need to report profit/loss on every year for tax, etc ??

2) Is there any difference between sole proprietorship and partnership (sdn bhd) other than the no. of owner ??

Windows Media Player

Alright, a while ago I had some issue with Media Player (forgotten what's the problem) and I uninstall it as a windows component from control panel. Then now I wish to view some video in .avi format so I add it back again. I have no trouble adding the player back but when I tried to open it up, it told me WMP is not installed properly.

Fine, I go to Microsoft site and download WMP 11 which are suppose to work with XP. But then when I tried to install it, it said WMP 11 is not compatible with my windows version. So I download WMP 10 this time and same thing happened.

I want WMP back to my comp. Anyone has any solution on this matter ??

Double Posts Merge Bug

Hey peeps, I just double posted in Gamer's Hideout -> Dawn of War: Dark Crusade thread and when I submit my second post which happened to be approx. 2 hours later than the 1st post, I found out that my 1st post was gone, left only the 2nd post content, you guys might want to check it out what really happened as this had never happened before. (I used the merger features once in the same thread but it merge successfully, this is the 1st time though)

I'm posting the proof showing my 1st post before I submit my 2nd post.

And, the only "uncommon" thing I did is that, I type something in the fast reply box then I decided to switch to full reply mode by pressing the MORE OPTION option.

Software Restriction Policies

I want to prevent a group of users from accessing a particular program (say, Internet Explorer), am I able to do so by just using the policy settings in Windows 2003 Server ?? I know how to do it by using the software restriction policy but it doesnt work good enough as only a group of users are affected. Is there any more powerful option in Windows 2003 that I could do this ?? A how-to guide would be appreciate.

Error message when open file in PhotoEditor

Hey guys, really could use some helps from those Windows 2003 experts.

I had bunch of users who are using PhotoEditor which comes together with MS Office 2000. When these users try to open a photo with the PhotoEditor, this message appeared "No file format information can be found in the registry" then followed by "Unknown file format". Be noted that this happened to every photo I tried to open, I got no trouble when I try to use PhotoViewer to view the pictures.

My environment is using Windows 2003 Server under a domain and those users are assigned as a normal domain users.

My friend is opening his own Cyber cafe which is projecting at least 50 units of PC and he would like to know the price for Norton GoBack. Anyone has any idea rougly how much is Norton GoBack and what is the price if purchase 1 shot of 50 licenses. Or anyone has other similar products like GoBack which is cheaper ?? (From symantec website, GoBack is costing USD$50 which I think is a bit expensive)
