Want to be an Editor but am taking Graphic Design

I just got into Diploma Graphic Design. I want to be a graphic designer but I also want to be an editor. What should I do? I was thinking of doing TESL at first but my mother told me to switch to Gdesign so it was out of my control. I got the offer and I know I need to do a degree on Gdesign as well. Do I still have the chance to study English literature/language? I have an A on English, A- Bahasa Melayu, A Arts and A+ on Maths for SPM.

I like English and drawing. In school I take part into lots of English competitions and even NST Spell it right. I also joined the school magazine as a graphic designer for two years. Both is interesting and exciting. Math is fun (the teacher is g r e a t) but I don't see a career I'd take part in.

Laptop for designing (other than Macbook Pro)

I was going to consider VAIO Fit but some say it's a heavy laptop and the battery didn't last that long. If this is true then what else is greater than Sony VAIO? My budget is around RM5,000 to RM 7,000. Am willing to buy the best of best if I an use it for a long time. I need a laptop for my work. No Gaming at all. Not a gamer. Mainly I will be using Adobe Photoshop a lot. And Illustrations. etc Macbook seems great but I'm just curious if there's more to consider. Seeing that other new laptops have touch screen and so on. Easy to draw then. No need to use Waacom tablet all the time.

Will the university provide the tools and apps?

Err okay I was a little confused whether I should post this on Mobile Computing or Education Essential but I decided to post it here.

I'm going to take Graphic Design and decided on a Mac. Will the university provide us the Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative and other essentials for our course? I am rather worried because Mac is not Windows. Windows is okay too but since my parents insist on a Mac I am rather worried about installing the programs I need for design. Will they provide the apps (most basic Adobe Photoshop/Illustration) or do we have to buy it ourselves for Mac? I would like to ask the lecturer sometime later but idk I should 'sediakan payung sebelum hujan' It will be good to see your response.

My university choice in UPU (IPTA) is UiTM but if I do not get it I will take MMU. I didn't take Matrix / Form Six because if I do the subject will be most about Pure Science.

LAPTOP or DESKTOP for a Graphic Design student?

I just got my SPM results and well, I want to do a Diploma on Graphic Design. I'm not sure if I should buy a Laptop or a Desktop since I don't think sitting in a hot room will help me with ideas. I want to sit out in the park, library, cafe or somewhere that can give me inspirations. But idk maybe university students doesn't have time for things like that, so should I buy a desktop? A laptop will be great for switching locations with my assignments but I'm afraid that bringing it almost everywhere will slow down the system.

Does most graphic design students use a desktop or a laptop? Should I buy a super expensive laptop with touchscreens like Viao fit 15 or just a desktop that I can work with smoothly?

Do recommend some laptops/desktops that is good. My budget will be around RM 1000~RM 3000
