Stereo Speaker for Computer

Hi guys, i have a pair of old stereo speaker. It is possible to mod the bare end > 3.5mm jack and connect to sound card output?
BTW my speaker is PHILIPS FB550-01B front speaker, bare end. I m wondering can the speaker connect to PC without amplifier.

[addedon]August 7, 2010, 5:25 pm[/addedon]Ok, i just tested with a RCA > 3.5mm cable. I cut the RCA jack and connect direct to speaker, it works but the sound is low. It should because of no amp built-in i guess.
