Hi all,

As per Umobile website

https://www.u.com.my/about-us/press-release/470

Umobile contract with Maxis is going to end by end of this year (31st Dec 2018). My hometown is located at small village at Johor, which current Umobile line will connect to Maxis 3G service.. Wondering what will happen after end of this year... If Umobile doesn't manage to build up their own network tower on time, will we facing the issue of no network?

Alternative for molpoints

Hi,

Previously I am using my mum Hotlink number to topup molpoints credit, and then use the molpoints credit to purchase the Hotlink topup ticket for every month. As my mum number is just for backup only, so this will be the best way to utilize the credit and keep our number active.

However, molpoints has removed the mobile topup method via Hotlink/Maxis recently...
Is there any other channel I can use the same method to use Hotlink credit to purchase the app credit/ points, and then use the credit/points to purchase with another topup ticket like molpoints?

Thank in advance...

Celcom First 38 or Hotlink Postpaid Flex

Hi Guys,

I am currently using Celcom First 38 plan which come with 5GB data, 50min call & 50 sms per month. (RM38/mth).
Need your guys opinion is it wise for me to port out the number to Maxis as Hotlink Postpaid Flex plan which come with 1GB data, unlimited call & sms to all network (RM30/mth)
The Hotlink Postpaid Flex can add on RM10 to come with unlimited access to social media platform like Facebook, Instragram & etc.

Consideration:
1) Celcom First 38 plan is any expired plan... once ported out, I cant enjoy the same offer anymore in the future
2) Celcom doesnt come with 4G at my hometown. So every time when go back to my hometown, I need to use my backup Hotlink number to browse internet. Maxis come with 4G at my hometown.

Waiting for your guys opinion...
Just got the update from my friends working at telco industries, Maxis, Digi and Celcom...

As per latest SKMM rules and instruction

1) Expired prepaid number reactivation no longer can be done via walk in to respective center or online/call. No more exceptional can be done regardless you are located at overseas or etc. Customer is required to purchase a new sim pack with new number. However, in case if the number is extremly important for you, you may still walk in and check the availability to register it as postpaid line if available.

2) SIM replacement request can only be proceed by the registered account owner with IC thumbprint verification. No more 3rd party request with athourization letter or etc will be allow

3) IC/Passport verification will be needed for prepaid sim pack purchase and even for top up ticket purchase... (no info update for the verification process for top up purchase via online yet at this moment)

For those who based at overseas, make sure you top up regulary to keep your number active and keep the sim with you to avoid any inconvenience in the future....

No.1 4G wireless backup
The Maxis Home Fibre plan is come with new modem with backup 4G sim. Whenever the fibe is down, you will be auto backup with 4G connection,
which mean there will be no issue for you to access to internet anytime

3) Latest Home & Mobile devices .Zero upfront payment
As compare to other telco, the unlimited data line doesnt come with any device offer. For Maxis One Prime, you may use the number to sign up for phone or entertainment devices

4) One Maxperts team. For everything internet
You will be auto under Maxis One Club - Elite & serve by elite (VIP) team whenever you call. No advertisement & no call waiting.

5) No limitation for tethering
Unlike other telco which capped the tethering quota at 10GB for instance, there is no tethering limitation for the mobile line under Maxis One Prime. It is included the share line which only cost RM48/mth as well.

Disadvantages:

1) The Maxis One Prime is come with mobile + Maxis Fibre
If you are based at the state or location without fibre coverage, you wont be able to sign up for this package

2) Higher cost compare to other telco.
Minimum cost for this package will be RM188 (mobile) + RM179 for 30Mbps Fibre = RM367 (before gst)

3) Suitable for families with 2-5 members.

PS: T&C for endless data.
As per T&C: If the combined mobile data usage of your principal line and your shared lines exceed 300GB in a month, Maxis may at its absolute discretion limit the quality of video streaming to standard definition during peak hours.

I have called & spoke with the Maxis staff, even after exceeded the 300GB data, they will only managed the video streaming, capped at 480p definition during peak hours. No limitation or speed capped for other website/application. The best FUP that I can heard from the market so fair.

Celcom - The worst telco for customer care

After using Celcom postapid for month, the signal and speed reduced dramatically recently.... only getting H+ most of the time without 4G, speed below 1Mbps.... when back to hometown at Johor no 4G at all... by the way, Digi and Maxis already have 4G at my hometown...

Call to Celcom customer call, forever no one pick up the phone... check with my friends, they told me Celcom call center is managed by outsource 3rd party company, dont bother to call them... the call center staff is not belong to Celcom and their service are suck... at 1st I thought maybe my friend's previous experience was bad.. So I still give it a try, finally got someone pick up my phone after called for the 4th times... A lady handled my call, she told me my area got maintenance.. I told her I had checked on yr website and my area maintenance was completed since 2 months ago... then she quiet for a while and asked me to try restart my phone and monitor again in few days... and hurry want to end my call... come on... can at least help me to create a case or ticket and forward it to the network team to check further right... I am really pissed off with the service.. simple answered customer and pushing me away without helping me...

I get angry after this and try to lodged complaint via social media channel instead... to my suprise... their only official Facebook page "First by Celcom"... no one is manage and handle the page... what they did was just keep posting advertisement.. all my comment was hide/deleted.. no one ever reply me.. same go to other people comment... number of comment showed is 20+... when click on it none of the comment can be seen.... what is the point of creating a Facebook page by just hiding and delete customer comment.. Try to check whether they have Twetter page or not... to my suprise again... they dont have either....omg Celcom.... what era and years it is now? No social media customer care at all?

I am really pissed off with you Celcom... your service and technology is really outdated... where is your celcom app? want to check quota usage still need to use sms...

alamak betul...

I will port out to Digi or Maxis next week... good bye forever Celcom...

Stay or leave ? ( Contract based vs Permananet )

Hi guy, I am currently working at one of the largest company in Malaysia, well established organization, monthly pay fixed 4.8k (consider high as I am only having 2-3 years working experience)
However, the job was offered in contractual basis, no bonus.. and the company have the right to not renew my contract after my contract end. Few of my colleagues contract was not being renew, mainly due to took too many days of MC... working environment is good and stress still manageable...The only concern will be the job security as it is a contractual based position. (1 year)

I am currently offered a job by other company (china man company) to handle customer based at China, they offer me 4k basis and RM100 fixed allowance. Although it come together with other variable claims, however, if only count in the fixed income, I am actually getting RM700 lesser per month...

Both company located at the same building...

The china company give me the timeframe of 2 days to confirm with them whether accept or not accept their offer..

If you were in my position.. what will you think..?
To stay and continue work at a well establish company with higher salary but contractual based

Or accept the offer from China Company with lower salary but permananet position?

I need advise...

I believe most of you aware about the RM 38/day international roaming pass for data, but do you know you can get it as low as RM20 for 3 days usage?

Yes, it is RM20 for 3 days usage!

For Hotlink users, you may purchase the social pass when you travel to overseas, for 3 days social pass @ RM20, you will get unlimited access to facebook, twitter and whatsapp. on top of that, you will also enjoy additional 200MB quota for access to others webiste. Once you finished the quota, the speed will be throttled without additional charge, no pay per use.

on top of that, you may also top up the quota for access to other website to resume the speed, the price will be RM5 per 50MB quota add on. The network and speed work pretty well at Thailand under AIS 3G.

Good Job Maxis/Hotlink

For U Mobile Free 50MB roaming data:
ps: I notice Umobile is offering free 50MB international roaming quota per day, but I didnt aware that you must make a minimum top up of RM50 to enjoy this offer.. and once you finished the 50mb quota.. you will be charge for additional usage..

If you have active data pass, you may enjoy free slower speed Internet once finished the quota as long as the pass is still valid. If no active Internet pass, the Internet will be hard stop.

4) Special rate for quota add on. Once finished the quota, you may top up by just RM12 for 1GB

5) Special rate for call/SMS under active 10 (Hotlink/Maxis) number. Call 6sen/30second, 1 sen/SMS

The only downside of this new plan will be

1) No free basic Internet as it come with 365 validity features. However, since the plan doesn't come with data pay per use, it shouldn't be an big issue.

For more details: https://www.hotlink.com.my/en/plans/fast.html

Latest Update: (End of May 2016)

Hotlink Fast is come with Free 8GB weekend fast internet per month, 1GB free for each Sat & Sun, total 2GB per week. However, it is still under testing period now.

No wonder the speed is so much different ...

---------------------------------------

Umobile - You get for what you pay :(

I am previously using Maxis and changed to Umobile recently.

At first, I thought U mobile is ok and since the price is lower, it help me to save alot of money (whole families mobile line)

However, I facing several issue after port in to Umobile, first, the 4G LTE coverage is very limited, most of the time I only able to get H+/3G with average speed 0.5mbps to 2 mbps. My dad and mum staying at kampung area, which previously they able to get H+, but now changed to Edge.

I have call Umobile serveral time, no call back, problem still the same, I posted my complaint at their facebook page, they delete the post and blocked me, and few days ago, I walk-in to their center at Sunway pyramid to raise up the issue, by just hoping that at least they will create a case for me to check further with their network team, which what Maxis will do previously to solve the issue.

However, I am served by a bad attitude staff, sarcasm me by told me that "We are Umobile, not Maxis, our coverage is poor at non city area, you get what you pay for, if you think Maxis is better, you may go back to Maxis !!!!! "

Fine, thank for the lesson Umobile, I will never come back to you again,

Yes, you are offering lowest price among the other telco in Malaysia, so ? With lousy network and lousy customer service, you will lose out at the end!

what is the point you offering 7GB data but I cant even use it or only getting turtle speed ?

Last but not least, good bye Umobile, I will never come back to you again !!
