About serious kopitiam

QUOTE(empire @ May 14 2022, 01:09 PM)

On the 1st day of Chinese Calendar and 15th day many Taoist temples have their Mediums channeling Deities/Gods such as Sun Wu Kong, Tua Pek Gong, Ji Gong, Guan Gong, Ang Gong Sin Goon, Na Zhar and many more.

I remember when I was still a kid, my Mum took me and my sister to a Taoist temple in KL to seek healing cos my sister has a rare skin condition that even the top doctors cant cure. Desperate and with no other choice...my Mum decided to try super natural divine help and see if it works.

When the Medium who channeled 1 Deity ( I forgot who the deity was) looked at my sister, he performed some 'air writing' with 5 joss sticks on her all...from head to toes. He then wrote something on the yellow talisman paper and told my Mum to burn it and add water...gave my sister to drink....and also prescribed a medicine with a list of herbal ingredients for my Mum to boil everyday to give to my sister. Shockingly...after less than 2 weeks my sister was COMPLETELY healed!.

Sadly that temple is no longer around as the Gov took back the land more than 10 years ago. Since then I have heard that there are some conmen Mediums who cheat the devotees money by pretending to be in a trance but they are ACTING.

I am looking for a Taoist temple in Klang Valley that is sincere where the mediums are genuine and not conmen. I have friends who are currently suffering from serious illnesses and are desperate cos the doctors already told them they wont have much time left to live.

Please bear in mind that this is SERIOUS KOPITIAM...so if you wanna mock and poke fun at this topic, I advise you dont.

since we cant mock his topic inside serious kopitiam

can we post outside of serious kopitiam and comment instead ?
Do you know these brand certification?

MeSTI
(Makanan Selamat Tanggungjawab Industri) is a foundational food safety certification by the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM). It is mandatory for small and medium-sized food enterprises (SMEs) to meet the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009 and is a crucial stepping stone to applying for JAKIM Halal certification.

Superbrands
certification is an invitation-only global brand recognition program that identifies and celebrates the most outstanding and trusted brands in their respective fields. Achieving this status publicly acknowledges a company's market dominance, exceptional product quality, and consumer trust.

Buatan Malaysia
(Made in Malaysia): Dihasilkan melalui pemprosesan di Malaysia, tidak tertakluk kepada peratusan bahan mentah tempatan tertentu, tetapi perlu melalui perubahan bahan yang ketara.

ISO
certification is an official seal of approval verifying that your organization adheres to internationally recognized standards for quality, safety, or information security. It is issued by independent, accredited bodies—not the ISO organization itself.

I always buy a product if they have these verification or logo

what about you?

discuss

Kelantan sultan recognizing a chinese temple

This video by Astro AEC's News Probe explores the centuries-old Mazu culture in Kelantan, Malaysia, a state governed by the Islamic party (PAS) for over 30 years. Despite the Chinese population being less than 3%, their traditional practices and inter-ethnic harmony remain deeply rooted.

The Sultan’s Gift (The Drum): A unique symbol of racial harmony is the Malay drum (Beduk) gifted to Zhen Xing Gong by Sultan Muhammad II in 1879 [06:40]. According to legend, the Sultan’s fleet was lost at sea, and after a Kapitan Cina prayed to Mazu, the fleet returned safely. In gratitude, the Sultan gifted the drum to the temple, signifying royal recognition and respect [07:18].

1. Unbowed, unbent and unbroken

Unbowed (Non-Apologetic): When you express an opinion this way, you don't use "qualifiers" to soften the blow. You don't say, "I might be wrong, but..." or "I’m sorry if this offends you." You stand tall behind your statement.

Unbent (Consistent): Your opinion doesn't change based on who is in the room. You don't "bend" your views to match the popular crowd or to avoid an argument. The opinion is a straight line from your heart to your mouth.

Unbroken (Resilient): Even if your opinion makes you an outcast or brings you "fire," you do not take it back. You would rather suffer the consequences than admit to a lie.

2. Silenced, Swayed, and Shattered

Silenced (The Void): This is the ultimate "bowing." The person believes the truth, but they are too afraid to let it cross their lips. The opinion exists in a cage, never to be heard.

Swayed (The Performance): This is "bending." To fit in or stay safe, the person starts adopting the language of their critics. They begin to speak in a way that contradicts their actual observations. Their speech becomes a performance rather than a confession.

Shattered (The Loss of Self): This is the most tragic stage. Under enough pressure, the person loses the ability to even know what they believe. Their internal compass is broken; they have been forced to repeat a lie so many times that their own sense of reality is destroyed.

which one are you?

discussing about women's preferences

I just finished a team-building session with my colleagues at Nando's.

As a guy, I was curious about women’s preferences in men, so we ended up discussing the topic.

One awek colleague mentioned she dislikes overly religious men. Her response was, 'Eww, I can't stand those overzealous men,' which quite surprised me.

One amoi colleague stated that any guy driving a Myvi or a lesser car is a 'huge no-no.' She emphasized that a man's car must be fully paid off because she doesn't want to deal with staggering debts.

One minachi colleague added that her partner must be physically fit—no 'big bellies' allowed—and he must be tall with no drinking habits.

I honestly felt a bit bad for all the 'short kings' out there after hearing that!

What do you think about these preferences?

discuss

Recently, my best friend offered me a concert ticket because she’s busy this weekend.

The seat is next to her pretty childhood friend, whom she’s been trying to introduce me to for a while.

Since I’m not really a 'concert guy,' I wasn't willing to pay for the seat.

I ended up getting an earful for not making an effort to find a girlfriend

should I just take the ticket and entertain both sides?

discuss
