Buying car in cash (as foreigner)

Hi guys,

Need to ask the senior here, what will be the problems/consequences for me to buy a car in cash? Am I allowed to buy the car in cash? Am I allowed to buy the car at all?
I have a budget up to 200k, I'm thinking to buy the car under my name, I'm not Malaysia citizen, and not holding any PR as well, however my wife will be the one driving the car with my son, who both are Malaysian.

Also, I've done some research, not so much options, I'm preferring to get the SUV type of car.
I don't like sedan, the profile of the car is very low.

Have tried to search around for the car in oto.my, carlist.my, mudah.my.
New or recond car are also okay, but I prefer it to be above 2013 manufacture years.

Buying a new car in Malaysia is very challenging, you will get decent price with below average safety features. If you want to get a good safety feature, the price will be quite high, most of them are CBU unit.

I was making up my mind to get the 2014 Toyota Harrier, until I read it somewhere, we can't do anything with the japanese language panel.
All of the writing are in Japanese, even if you could somehow change the language on the head unit, but you can't do anything with the panels.

Any suggestions for the car will be greatly appreciated, my priorities are:
1. safety feature (air bags, ABS break, etc)
2. SUV
3. below RM 200k

Thanks in advance

Honeycomb windows shade

Hi Guys, hopefully I could find some answer here in this forum, I've been searching through the honeycomb windows shade. And the only one I could find is from Hunter Douglas, I even asked for a quotation and got back with a price that's beyond my expectation.

Is there any other brand or company that also have the honeycomb windows shade? I would like to make a comparison before making any decision.

Thanks in advance for the help

Mazda CX-9

Hi everybody,

I'm hunting for a 7 seater car, so I could fit all of the family members in the car.

Looking in the markets for few options, trimmed it down to few, such as Honda Odyssey, Mazda CX-9 or Volvo XC90.

Any owner of Mazda CX-9 around that could share the pro and cons if any for the Mazda CX-9?

I have a friend that said this car is overpriced here in Malaysia, not worth the price.
However I couldn't find a lot of options for 7 seaters car in the range of more or less than RM350k.

I will pass Alphard/Vellfire and Estima, because Alphard/Vellfire are mostly if not all recond and are too big.
Estima is for me not worth the price with all those minimal safety feature.

Are there any other options with a real 7 seater cars?

Thanks for any feedbacks in advance.
