Vantec NexStart CX 2.5" (USB & eSATA)

hi all,

i recently purchased a Vantec NexStar 2.5" HDD enclosure with both USB and eSATA external ports.

i wanted to use eSATA for transfers (faster) rather than USB (slower).

the USB port works without issues.

the eSATA port is another story. i have tried the following:
- desktop powered-off, plug-in, power-on desktop - hdd not detected
- desktop powered-on, plug-in - desktop freezes
- changed desktop SATA BIOS to AHCI mode - hdd not detected
- changed desktop SATA BIOS to Compatibility mode - hdd not detected

the enclosure only came with USB Y-cable, eSATA cable, SATA to eSATA cable with converter.

any idea?

difference between 3G / broadband?

hi all,

can anyone help me understand this?

here is what i want.
1. to be able to make video calls.
<-- I know i need 3G for this feature

2. i want to be able to get on the internet using my laptop anywhere anytime
<-- I went to a handphone shop here in Penang. The guy here told me that I can purchase a USB modem (price range from rm500-rm700), then I just need to subscribe to Maxis rm99 package.
So I then went to Maxis and Maxis told me that the rm99 is only for mobile internet. The Maxis broadband is rm138.

IdealVPN service is slacking

THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS....

I have been requesting that my account show the correct expiry date for months now but there is no feedback from DS... VPN Provider offerred help but in the end told me to get in touch with DS. So I go back to DS to rectify the error but no response from him.

THIS IS BAD SERVICE !!!

New accounts are processed fast... but old accounts are left as secondary.

I will continue to post on LOWYAT forum as well as this forum until my problem is resolved.

Can someone help me?
My downloads start at 20kb and will last about 5 minutes, then it will drop down to 1kb or sometimes to 0kb. What am I doing wrong?

Streamyx package - 1MB RM88/= per month
Router - ProLink H9200
Port Forwarding - TCP port#64321; UDP port#64323.
Set Half Open download to 25, patched to 256.
Limited Upload speed to 20, Download 120.
