HD Movies Lag

Hi. Trying to find a solution to the lagginess when watching HD Movies. It used to be fine until i reformatted my computer.

Laptop details: Microsoft Windows Home Premium 32-bit, Intel Core2 Duo CPU T9550 @ 2.66 GHz, 4GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT130M
Movies: MKV format 1080p (720p is fine)
Player: MPC ( Lags in VLC also) and using CoreAVC 2.0

The only changes i can think of is the antivirus has been upgraded from Norton Internet Security 2010 to 2011. Memory usage when file is being played is around 130MB. Still the same after restarting computer or disabling antivirus. It bugs me because it has been playing superbly for one year until i reformatted my comp recently. Any suggestions? Transfer Contacts from WinMo to Symbian

How can i transfer my contacts from my old HTC Diamond to SE Vivaz? I can use the 'copy to simcard' method but the problem is it wont transfer all the numbers and other details listed under the name. All it does is transfer the 1st number. Help is really appreciated. Thanks.

I watch a lot of HiDef movies on my laptop. Most of it are in .MKV or MPEG2-TS files. Lately i read a lot about to actually watch HiDef, we have to use the CoreAVC . Why is that? What is the difference between playing it on the CoreAVC or other Codec Packs. Currently i'm using KLite Mega. Btw which is better between Klite and CCCP? Thanks in advance.

Notebook Volume Extremely Soft

I'm using an Asus N51vf laptop which comes with a good sound card (Realtek HD) i presume. Sadly the sound is always too soft regardless whether i'm using the built in speakers or earphones . Both at max volume. Watching videos on youtube is still fine but watching movies is the worst. My previous laptop which was an Acer also had the same problem. Does this happen to all laptops? Any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Creative X-Fi Notebook vs Realtek HD Audio

I used to have a pcmcia creative audigy Z2s for my acer laptop. Worked very well and improved the sound tremendously. Lately I bought a new asus laptop and it comes with a realtek hd audio. Just wondering is it good enough or the pci express creative xfi will improve the sound a great deal. Pls help. Thx. Pros and cons if possible too.

Can play movie but not with subtitles

I can play my movies but when i place the subtitles in the same folder, the movie wouldn't play. It just get stuck at 00.00. I use windows media player classic from K-Lite Codec pack and i also have Vobsub installed.

The minute i remove the subtitle file from the folder, the movie can be played. Why is this? Any solutions?

How do i add more than one mobile phone nos in WM 6.1? I had to type the no everytime i need to sms because the option send sms is only available for one no. New to WM btw...Do help.

Caps, Num and Scroll Lock

Those keys on my keyboard (laptop) are inversed.

For example although the Num Lock is not activated, when i type the letters u,i,o etc, numbers come out instead.

Sometimes it acts as cursor (scroll lock). Today the caps lock key followed the same suit. In game, if caps lock is activated, the function is to RUN but without activating caps lock, my character is already running. (The game is Oblivion).

I have googled this problem but they seem to be no solutions. Please help! Btw sometimes the problem can be fixed after restarting. Most of the time not.

[WTA] How to delete a wireless connection?

Went to

1. Wireless connection network icon.
2. View wireless networks.
3. Set up a wireless network for home or small office.

Created network but now I don't want to use it. How do I delete it? Now every time I go back to the same place, the option to "Add new computers or devices to the "X" network" will be there.

Can't Burn DVD

I'm using NTI CD & DVD maker. Wanted to burn some .avi files the last time but failed. The message was HARDWARE ERROR. Anyway tried burning some other .avi files and this time it worked. Then I started burning the 1st group of .avi files again and same problem occurred.

Then i sorted out the files assuming the burner can't burn corrupted files. After three tries and wasting three DVDs, found the culprit. One of the files can't be burnt at all.

Now the same problem has occurred but this time i have 12 .avi files. Can't be wasting 11 DVDs. Anyway is there any other way i could detect the ones which can't be burnt besides the "trial and error" method?

All these files including the previous corrupted files can be played. Help appreciated.

Connected to Router but Can't Use Internet

Helped my friends set up a wireless connection to a router but only two out of three can surf the internet.

The one that is not connected is not using windows XP. Any things that I may have overlooked? Is there any setting in the web browser(IE) that i should change?

I'm sharing my internet connection with router. Let's just say i'm donwloading loads of stuff, would it affect the other users?

What's is a virtual private network actually? I checked it on the internet and i'm still not quite sure what it means.

I was just wondering if i'm using internet from an ISP eg streamyx and i use a router in my apartment to share it with other people, is it still considered a VPN?

The problem is i'm in overseas at the moment. In my building, there's an internet connection which connects directly to my laptop by a network cable. I'm not quite sure about the speed. Anyway, i want to share it by wireless with my friends. First thought is just get a wireless router but someone told me i need two routers because i must create a VPN. Is there such a thing?

Hidden Folders

I recently checked what are inside hidden folders. Found lots of folders of programs which i deleted especially in the:-

document and settings--->"user name" ---> application data folder.

Some are the folders are empty but why are they there? Aren't they supposed to completely gone from my comp?

Lastly what the these hidden folders for anyway?

Logitech V400 Mouse

I bought a logitech mouse. V400 laser tech for my notebook.

Everytime i accidentally touch the usb plug-in, the mouse wouldn't be connected anymore. When i unplug it and plug it in again it says USB drive faulty...Sometimes nothing happens at all and the mouse remains undetected.

Any idea why? My batteries are new by the way. Pressing the reset button on the mouse or restarting my comp doesn't help either.
