AIA Panel Clinics in Sri Petaling

For anyone familiar with Sri Petaling area, you will know that are many clinics around. I have been to almost all the clinics.
How?
Well, I frequently fell ill sometime early 2014 and I had the opportunity to visit these clinics.
I have added the clinic details below.
(This is excluding the dental clinics and clinics that don't accept AIA card, obviously)

1. Klinik Chin - AIA RED CARD
6g, Jalan Radin Anum, 57000 Kuala Lumpur ‎ 375 m SW
03-9058 8311

Personally, I really like Dr Chin. I have gone to him a number of times and there is a few reasons for this.
I am comfortable knowing that I will not be overcharged simply because I have an insurance card.
Medication and consultation fees are generally around RM40. No frills. And Also, you basically pay for what you get.
Unfortunately, my new company has provided me with the green AIA insurance card which is not accepted here.

2. Klinik Sentral - AIA RED/GREEN CARD
Jagga Rao Malla Naidu
22, Jalan Radin Anum, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur,‎
03-9057 7884
24 hours

Where do I start?
Medication and consultation will cost RM70 minimum.
Service wise?
I have seen 3 different doctors there.
Of the three, the female doctor is the most terrible and the main reason why I try to avoid going there.
She is indifferent to your complaints and seems to treat you as if you are lying about your symptoms.
I could tell a few stories, but that's for another day.
Dr Bala is a very nice man. However he seems a bit tentative when prescribing medication. I don't wish to disclose further on him as he a kindly gentleman.
The third doctor, I've only been to him once, but he was very businesslike and couldn't care less about your worries.
Fine by me.
last word, only go if you are really desperate. Like I just recently was due to it being the only open clinic that will accept AIA green card.

3 Poliklinik Kumpulan City - AIA RED CARD
26, Jalan Radin Anum, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur

I once walked into the clinic at 7am. Clinic Chin was closed unfortunately.
The receptionist told me that I will have to wait 30 minutes as the doctor is running late. After 30 minutes, the doctor was still not there.
I went up to the receptionist and told them that I feel really ill and is there a place where I can rest. They took me to the bed in the examination room and I laid down. I fell asleep. I awoke 2 hours later and turns out that the doctor was still not there and the receptionist both were chit chatting. I called to them and they told me that they are not sure how long the doctor will take. I walked out after my nap and turns out Clinic Chin was open since it was already past 9am.
Thankfully Dr Chin managed to treat me.
However, this is only that one incident.
I have been there a few other times as well and service is alright. Price, still around RM70 for consultation and medication. But otherwise okay.

4 Klinik Mega - AIA RED/GREEN CARD
76, Jalan Radin Tengah, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur ‎ 240 m W
03-9057 3696 ‎

Charges vary based on medication. Quite reasonable. But it was close a couple of times when I wanted to visit so I had to go to the dreaded Klinik Sentral.

5 Klinik Chan & Khaw
50, Jalan Radin Tengah, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur ‎ 134 m W
03-9058 5816

There are many other clinics around Sri Petaling, but I am ending the list here as these are the ones I have been to.
It can be that others have been to these clinics and have experience something different to what I have mentioned.
No offense to anyone.

I wish the AIA green card was accepted in more places. But I couldn't find out from AIA customer service on why the difference. They told me to refer to my HR, which is in Bangkok while I am in KL!
Old Folk/Nursing Home or Private Nurse at home?

I received a call from this lady a few days ago. She wanted to know how much will it cost to hire a private nurse. So I give her the usual rates, RM90/8 hours etc etc.

She asks me a lot of questions in regards to the nurses and process of hiring. I provide necessary information and I ask her for the patient's details.
She says that she will get back to me after checking with other family members.

Yesterday I received a Whatsapp message saying that they have decided to send their mother to an Old Folks Home.

I was really speechless.

Because I always thought that if anyone resorts to sending their parents away, it is because they did not know that they have the option to keep the parents at home and hire nurse to come to the house instead.

Everyone is busy working, I understand that. But I am working too. And despite that, I can never imagine sending my mother to a nursing home away from her family. Like what the hell?
You can spend the same amount, in fact lesser amount to keep your mother at home with her family but you want to send her to a nursing home??

I really felt sorry for the poor old lady who had no say whatsoever in her own life.

Private Nurse Services
